Nothing says "family" like gathering the kids around the TV and watching a guy get his heart pulled out of his chest in Temple of Doom.

Ghostbusters 2 is more family oriented than the first. Back to the Future sure except for the thing where his younger mom has a thing for her son. No to all the rest.

The fourth Indiana Jones probably. The violence is less gruesome than the earlier films.

Yeah, it was very normal to watch these movies with my parents when I didn't hit puberty yet

Ghostbusters 1 and 2 Back to the Future movies Top Gun Indiana Jones movies Jurassic Park movies I kind of think so, yes. I used to volunteer at the old fashioned movie theater in a small town in Indiana. They were very conversative and family oriented to the point of cornpone. And they showed every one of the movies you cited with the possible exception of "Top Gun". They also always played the Chevy Chase "Vacation" movies to packed houses. One year I was on the movie selection committee and I suggested "Hush, Hush... Sweet Charlotte" and was pleased when it was shown. I went to all four showings! "So, you're finally showin' the right side of your face, ain't ya?! Well, I seen it all the time!"

I don’t think the first Ghostbusters movie was particularly interested in being a family film. The cartoon played a major role in Ghostbusters being known as something that kids enjoy.

Didn't "Temple of Doom" lead to the PG-13 rating? Too gory for a PG rating, but not enough for an R rating, but there wasn't really an "in between" category at the time.

They're all kids movies with the exception of top gun which was intended for teens and older.

Top Gun? Not so much.
The rest definitely are family movies though. That said, my Mum forbade me from watching Back to the Future and Jurassic Park when I was young.

I saw all these films with at least one of my parents theatrically outside of Temple of Doom (mom said no way after the word got out about the heart pulling and overall “satanic” aspect of the cult members. I wasn’t interested in the first Jurassic Park film when it came out, I thought it looked too Kid oriented. Ghostbusters 2 I saw with some friends. I was getting too old to be seen with my parents by then (although I still saw some movies with my parents when we didn’t go to the local movie theaters (I figured it was safe that I wouldn’t see anyone I knew haha). I think they were all filmed with families in mind as an audience for the most part.
