So because the actor that played him died you want to kill off a perfectly good inspirational character too because you don't want to offend idiots on Twitter? I am of the view that Chadwick Boseman succeeded in defining the character of T'Challa in a very fundamental and specific way in the 2018 film. T'Challa isn't Bruce Wayne or Clarke Kent - charaxcters who have figured large in popular culture for decades and who have been portrayed by multiple actors over the years. I love the Marvel movies but read few of the comics and had never even heard of the character until shortly before the movie's release. And that would be true of a huge proportion of the audience. Boseman gave him life and I think he should be retired out of respect for the late actor's legacy. Let that character rest and find a successor to the Black Panther mantle. There can still be a Black Panther. It just won't be T'Challa. Right, he's much more important than either of those.

In the future? Killing off Tchalla for good instead of simply just recasting instead? You could've just saved your fingers and said I'm right. Your future story also stinks because we would have to fill in the gaps, plot holes and age the cast to fit the future look. And who or what would've killed T'challa in this future of yours? Marvel has succeeded because they were forward thinkers and can adapt but they haven't on this occasion. Sooner or later they will have to recast T'challa you know that right? It doesn't have to be decades ahead or anything like that. Say 4 years and T'Challa has been killed in an event that serves as the springboard for the film's plot. The kingdom is in crisis mode as a result. As for who could be behind his death - I'm personally keen on the idea of Doctor Doom. His global ambitions and their impact on neighbouring African territories have led to conflict between his regime and Wakanda. See, this is what amazes me about this so called “respectful” option. They have to actually kill him in these scenarios! That is in terrible taste.

The black panther character has been around a lot longer than Chadwick played him. Should be recast.

NO! we have plenty of white male heroes which is why we need T'Challa and Carol Danvers so much. There's absolutely no need for any more Batman or Superman movies outside of excessiveness. FACT!

People hate recasting even when the actor didn't just tragically die. There's no perfect solution, but having another character take up the BP mantle is probably the least bad.

The only other alternative - assuming no recasting, of course - would be for him to step down from the position off-screen or be called away on urgent business. But of course the latter wouldn't work long-term and the former would feel like a cop-out IMO.

Well, we can assume it won’t be Shuri taking the role. The actress is a rabid anti vaccine nut job. That would be a disastrous PR nightmare in the COVID vaccine era.

I don't agree with their decision, but it'll be tough to accept another actor as T'Challa. It's just going to so jarring to have T'Challa written out of his own sequel after he had just been resurrected following the Snap.

I understand there may be a sense of betrayal in recasting the role but Chadwick was never going to live forever. And as you said writing out T'challa in his own sequel in his own kingdom is fucking stupid like Zack Snyder level stupid.
