They say men can't be priests unless they're unmarried and celibate, they preferably want women who have never been married, to be nuns, and once in the church, priests have sex with the nuns, nuns get pregnant, nuns murder their babies and throw them away, this has gone on for hundreds of years and is still going on in the modern world, and they don't think this conflicts with what they preach to their millions of congregates about living so pure and never having sex. So somehow they have it in their heads they are not going to burn for what they've done, what, they think God isn't watching, or will let them slide because they're in the church? But He won't show the same mercy to the people listening to their sermons every week? Sounds more like they don't actually believe anything they're demanding their followers live by...so if they don't believe anything they're saying, it's obvious they ain't really Catholic, so what are they?
And don't try to jumble any protestant denominations in this because none of them say 'if you've been married, had children, etc., you are less holy than us, our members are all pure and chaste'.

That’s a lot of gobbledygook, but to answer the question, probably a lot are...as well as Protestant pastors. Not that they enter the priesthood or religious life as atheists, but an honest look at the inside can kill a person’s faith. Forgive her, she's homeschooled.

I agree it's a flawed system they got going there, because humans are gonna human. I don't think they're bad people or athiests for having sex. Just human. And the church gives us all a never ending get out of jail free card, which is nice.

Only if you're actually repentant. In Echo Heron's book Tending Lives, one of the nurses tells of a nun who came in with hemorrhaging indicating she'd given birth, no, she's a nun, she couldn't possibly be pregnant, no, she's a nun, she's so holy, she never had a baby, no, it's some other cause she has no idea about, they find a newborn strangled in a trash can in her room, oh no, she'll go to hell if she admits she had sex, but she WON'T burn for murdering her own child, she's a nun, she can skate on that, but not having sex.

At least, in this case, the CC had an alibi.

That’s a lot of gobbledygook, but to answer the question, probably a lot are...as well as Protestant pastors. Not that they enter the priesthood or religious life as atheists, but an honest look at the inside can kill a person’s faith. You see it when you hear someone start equivocating on what God is...or what THEY mean by God. It often comes out when they're discussing theism with atheists and they throw out the accusation that we (atheists) don't have the correctTM concept of God and accuse us of, you know, thinking of this old man with a beard up in heaven, etc etc. That suggests to me that they've started redefining God because the 'old fashioned' version of God is just...unrealistic. So they come out with things like 'God is being,' 'God is love,' God is the goodness in the world,' 'God is the beginning and the end' and so forth. To me, that means they've lost that believin' feeling and have gone to rationalizing so they can remain/call themselves 'theists.'
It's also hidden in their accusation that atheists somehow 'choose' to believe there is no god or choose NOT to believe in God. That suggests they DO choose to believe...which is another way of saying they have to in, essence, daily convince themselves to mentally say they believe God (whatever they mean by that) exists.
So yes, I think there are a lot of leaders in religious groups who are essentially atheists who keep saying they're theists.
