Warner Bros. already owns much of their catalogue. Let them buy the rest.

And a lot of films in MGM present possession (The James Bond films, the Pink Panther films, West Side Story, The Greatest Story Ever Told, Last Tango in Paris, Some Like It Hot, The Apartment, It’s A Mad Mad Mad Mad World, Coming Home, Midnight Cowboy, Paths of Glory) were United Artists

I say let Warner have their remaining back catalogue and let someone else bid on Bond.

Is MGM even an actual studio anymore? I don't really understand what their status is.

That they can't refuse? You holding out on us, you loaded or something? No, I just thought like maybe 50 bucks and I'll wash their car or something. Maybe I can clean the lion's cage.

Whomever ends up with it can hopefully finally release the roadshow edition of the Alamo on bluray or 4k.

I'm sure Disney will jump on that. Man alive, I hope not! Lots of MGM titles liscensed out to boutique labels (Scream/Shout Factory, Kino, etc.) have been going out of print on Bluray. Disney will just sit on MGM's catalog forever, keeping titles in their silly ass "Disney Vault" just like they are doing with non Marvel/Star Wars Fox stuff.

Is MGM even an actual studio anymore? I don't really understand what their status is. While MGM produced and or released some movies in the last 20 years or so, many of their recent movies have had all the other major studios involved- except Disney. Which would be a shame if they swooped in to buy MGM.
