That one-man refutation to conservatives’ whipping boy/straw man “liberal Hollywood,” Kirk Cameron, is now under fire for organizing caroling protests, large crowds without masks or distancing.
In an Instagram message, Cameron wrote, "We are going to be celebrating our God-given liberties, our constitutionally protected rights at this time at Christmas to sing Christmas songs, to gather, to assemble, and to sing about the birth of our savior."
A little reminder, Kirk, that Federal Judge Jesus Bernal (an appropriate name) right there in your home state of California has within the last couple of days ruled against a MAGA MEGA-Church who sued to overturn the safety guidelines on the basis that Christians were being persecuted and the First Amendment protected their indoor gatherings. In a blistering decision, the Judge said, in part,
I also think the right-wing political aspect should not be over looked. It is a delusional Republican - if not fascist - world view that drives them. It is about following a cult leader who is certainly NOT Jesus, Judge or Christian founder.
Of course they are appealing.

“Plaintiffs paint a stark picture. They claim that Tier 1 “totally prohibit religious worship services of any kind and any number”… This is not true. The First Amendment has not taken a sabbatical. Californians may still worship, attend services, pray, and otherwise exercise their religious freedoms. They just may not do so in ways that significantly increase the likelihood of transmission of a virus which has claimed more than three hundred thousand American lives in less than one year. The Constitution is not a suicide pact. The First Amendment may not be used to make it one.”
Of course they are appealing.
