Haven't watched this one yet. Considered the weakest of the trilogy and a big step down with some even saying it's flat out poor. Though it did still get a Best Picture nomination. Recently had some kind of Director's Cut released

Coda overall won't change the minds of any haters, but it is an improvement. If you already like the movie, you'll like Coda a bit more.

The new beginning and ending to Coda if you're curious:

I actually like this movie quite a bit. I like the story drawing from a real-life Vatican corruption scandal and both Al Pacino and Andy Garcia are great. But I do miss Robert Duvall and Sofia Coppola is simply horribly miscast;I think the first choice was Winona Ryder?

Even if it's not as good or great as the first two movies, I thought it was a respectable end of the saga.

I've always felt that Godfather III was unfairly maligned. Yes, casting Sofia Coppola was a mistake; yes, I wish Robert Duvall had come back; yes, Andy Garcia is 110% Cuban, and can't pass as an Italian man; even so, I really like this movie. The Godfather Coda version was fine, but sort of a waste of time, imo, as it changed very little.

My video library includes The Godfather and The Godfather: Part II. No desire to ever include the third film.

A solid 7/10 with me. I enjoyed the return of minor characters from Godfather 1 - Enzo the Baker, Lucy Mancini, Calo....

Not as good as the first 2 but still a well made crime epic. I really liked the intricate plot surrounding the Vatican corruption.
Al Pacino is decent but his performance lacks the subtelty of the first two films. Garcia was great and so were Joe Mantegna and Eli Wallach.

Taken on it's own, it really isn't a bad film at all.
However, in comparison to the first two, well then, that's where the problems start. It just pales in comparison.
I know it's easy to blame Sofia Coppola, and rightfully so, but to me the biggest problem was there was just WAAAAAAAY too much Connie.......waaaaaay too much Connie......

Yeah she seemed too much of a focus--maybe because Duvall was out. George Hamilton was an odd choice.

Weakest of the trilogy but still a good mob movie/redemption story.
Goodfellas overshadowed it in the gangster movie category that year though.

Weakest of the three easily, but still a great movie. I can understand the frustration of those who saw it in theaters, though. Waiting SIXTEEN years, and you get...that.
