Having not seen any trailers, dived straight into this one. Since Cars 2, Pixar’s reputation isn’t what it once was. Thankfully, this one is a winner. From Pete Docter (Up, Inside Out), it’s funny, smart, emotionally satisfying, and with some gorgeous animation.
3.5 out of 4

Is it anything like Here Comes Mr. Jordan/Heaven Can Wait? I thought it looked sort of like a Pixar take on those films.

Bringing my nephew to see this in a couple of days. Pixar hasn’t bowled me over for a while, but I’m looking forward to it.

Reminded me a lot of Don Hertzfeldt's World of Tomorrow. A while it might not be as good as those shorts, it's still a fantastic movie with beautiful animation and a very strong emotional core, 8/10.

Very mature subject material, and some themes that children may find hard to understand (it’s one that adults will enjoy more), but I think they can still enjoy it. I really liked it.

It's a beautifully crafted film that was a palate cleanser after watching Wonder Woman 1984. The themes for this film does have more adult appeal, but so did Finding Nemo and Up. The story nearly reminded me of Coco, which also had an aspiring musician wandering into the afterlife with a disapproving parent, but the theme for that film was way different. I did like Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross's score a lot, and will give it a listen on my own time. The voices were spot on, and the humor was excellent. I laughed the most at the New York Knicks and the You-Seminar mentors jokes.
