Worst movie I've watched in 2020
*Spoilers*
If I didn't know any better, I would think it was satire of "woke" culture. The entire film was man versus woman. One of the 4 witches was trans, which could have been a cool plot point, but they did nothing with it. She announced she's trans and then they did nothing else with the info. They just wanted to generically have a trans character.
They put a spell on the school bully to make him more sensitive. He then starts describing himself as "CIS gendered" and they actually applaud themselves for making him "woke," and yeah they use that term. He opens up to them and starts crying about actually being bisexual. He then thanks them for letting him cry. And again, nothing is done with the guy being bisexual, he announced it to check off an inclusivity box.
The one witch casts a love spell on the newly woke bisexual guy which involves masturbating with his sweatshirt. It was weird and creepy.
The one witch's stepfather is a life coach/motivational speaker for men. He lectures on how to be a strong man and handle conflict like a man (yes, seriously). He is, of course, our stereotype for toxic masculinity, and of course he gets physically abusive towards his stepdaughter in the climax. And, Surprise! He's actually an evil warlock our 4 heroines must defeat. There was no build up or development to his villain arc or this plot device, it comes out of the blue for a man vs woman climax.
This had NOTHING to do with original film aside from a cheap cameo of one of the original characters at the very end. I think they were setting up another sequel (please no).
I'm pretty middle of the road politically, but this movie was like a right-wing stereotype of leftwing social issues, and if I was on the left I'd be offended. Transgenders, bisexuals, and feminists don't need Blumhouse doing them any favors. I usually like Blumhouse's stuff, but this was a HUGE FAIL. Worst film I watched in 2020, easily. 0/10

I had no idea there was a sequel to The Craft. There wasn't actually. Calling this a sequel is the loosest use of the term.

Yeah it was woke, but it wasn’t as groaningly bad as something like Booksmart. Then again I had no real connection to the original Craft.
