First of all Spoiler warning, even though i'm not sure it is a spoiler. But just in case.
They have the detective played by whoppi goldberg. And the defense attorney of Tim Robbins is in a wheelchair.
Because he's told that he's one of the best in town. So in the film, they have a minority as the detective but the defense attorney is suprisingly in a wheelchair for the purpose of offsetting the diversity. The diversity of the woman actor that i mentioned, that is. It's so you don't notice the diversity. Because otherwise it would seem like a feminist film. At least sort of.

The classic tropical melodrama West of Zanzibar (1928) Dir. Tod Browning. & a remake Kongo (1932) Dir. William J. Cowen feature the wheelchair bound main character "Dead Legs" . Lon Chaney and Walter Huston both give spirited performances as embittered self proclaimed rulers of remote African jungle outposts....

Could not find a picture but in Little Foxes, Dan Duryea spinning around in Horaceβs big cane wheelchair while Horace lay dying upstairs was a sharp comment on his lack of character I found this one

Lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump 1994 How did I forget Lt Dan from my three VN movies post? Interesting that Hollywood put so many wheelchair-bound vets into film.
