It’s hard to believe there was a time when people hoped he would be the savior of DC movies.

Wasn't there a former executive that made disparaging comments about Johns a while ago?

I remember it during the Joker 'controversy' last year. It was Diane Nelson who was the CEO for DC Entertainment. "...A second fan commented by saying she was probably “too busy helping her buddy Geoff” destroy Snyder’s work, to which Nelson replied, “He’s no buddy of mine.” I just thought it was weird but maybe just office politics. heroichollywood.com/geoff-johns-former-ceo-dc-entertainment/

It always seemed awkward to know that his name was attached to WW84.

As it is I'd rather have Johns than Snyder working on these movies.

Me after the Snyder cut was announced. He's going to get a five picture deal. 😔 DC for the next 10 years.

It’s hard to believe there was a time when people hoped he would be the savior of DC movies. Here's the thing... everyones always looking to blame someone or something for why the DC movies arent more consistent and/or do better. The truth is that on the one hand there are too many hands in the pot, and on the other the studio execs act from a place of fear. They hedge their bets instead of realizing that they have literally the biggest or second biggest cash cow in current cinema. If Marvel can do it they can too. They just have to get that one person to spearhead the movement. In short they need a Kevin Feige. They wrongly thought it was Zack Snyder. Some thought it could be Geoff Johns. I think they should get an old timer of the movie industry... like Robert Zemeckis. Couldnt do any worse than anything else they've tried.

Whoever is running the animated movies might should get a shot. I have no clue who it is or if there is just one guy or gal. I find DC Animated tied together universe and one offs has been consistently good for like years. I know it's easier to manage the talent of Animated more so than the blockbuster live action but still...

Their recent run of animated films that ended with Justice League Dark: Apokolips War was very good overall. It did make me wonder why they didn't use some of the same writers for the live action films. I think over at Marvel they at least let Christopher Yost do that for two of the Thor movies.

I watched Apokolips War like day before yesterday and agree. I watched Superman Man of Tomorrow yesterday. Which wasn't tied and the only complaint I had about that was styling choice. The art style was a cross between Archer and early 00's internet flash animation style. I hope Apokolips War isn't the end of that thread of movies, because Man of Tomorrow seems like they starting over again building up the universe. Or maybe Man of Tomorrow is the result of Barry's last run in Apokolips War.
