Never heard of him but I'm happy for him. The two biggest problems people have with reading is illiteracy, and of those who can read, a lack of interest, both of which I place much blame on the public schools for. Either way, I'm always thrilled when people can discover the joy of reading. Writing's something less of a joy because there's a lot more work involved, but definitely worth it.
