Peter Sellers is awesome in all three roles, but I think the General is the funniest character. I love that guy.

Hayden is quite wonderful -maybe his finest hour although JOHNNY GUITAR the film of his I love the most
George C Scott was superb too
Funniest line? Tracy Reed "The general is in the powder room" 😀😅😎

General Turgidson on acceptable American casualties:
"Mr. President, I'm not saying we wouldn't get our hair mussed. But I do say no more than ten to twenty million killed, tops. Uh, depending on the breaks."

Many years ago, in the days of the Soviet Union, Bravo's research institution announced that a Soviet general would be paying a visit. I immediately said, "But he'll see the Big Board!"

Major Kong actually says, "a pretty good weekend in Dallas". But in between the filming and release, JFK had been assassinated in that Texas city and the very word was highly unpleasant. So "Vegas" was dubbed in. Similarly, one version of the film ends with a pie fight and the president is hit in the face. General Turgidson exclaims, "Our President has been struck down in his prime!"

[after learning of the Doomsday Machine] President Merkin Muffley (Peter Sellers): But this is absolute madness, Ambassador! Why should you *build* such a thing?Ambassador de Sadesky (Peter Bull) : There were those of us who fought against it, but in the end we could not keep up with the expense involved in the arms race, the space race, and the peace race. At the same time our people grumbled for more nylons and washing machines. Our doomsday scheme cost us just a small fraction of what we had been spending on defense in a single year. The deciding factor was when we learned that your country was working along similar lines, and we were afraid of a doomsday gap.President Merkin Muffley : This is preposterous. I've never approved of anything like that.Ambassador de Sadesky : Our source was the New York Times.

Major Kong on hearing the order to bomb the Rooskis:
"Well, I've been to one world fair, a picnic, and a rodeo, and that's the stupidest thing I ever heard!"

A lot of the characters have funny names with possible symbolic meanings. But I’d love to hear an explanation as to why there’s a Colonel Bat Guano. Maybe the not so subtle implication is that he is bat shit crazy?

I've always thought, ever since I first saw Dr. Strangelove, that the scene of Keenan Wynn talking about apologize to Coca Cola was the funniest thing in the movie.

"I'm sorry too, Dmitri. I'm very sorry. All right, you're sorrier than I am. But I am sorry as well. I am as sorry as you are, Dmitri. Don't say that you're the more sorry than I am because I am capable of being just as sorry as you are. So we're both sorry, all right? All right."
