A science fiction movie starring Owen Wilson and Salma Hayek. Interesting pairing...

It was an interesting idea, although it’s pretty much just a new take on The Matrix. I found the execution really dull and uninspired. It felt rushed and there was no real world building. The was no atmosphere or mystery. It had a “TV movie” quality to it. The reveal however, was a bit unclear, but not in a good way
It implies it was all in his head, due to mental issues or drug use. Were drugs creating the “dream house” world? Were they real/our world drugs and it was a metaphor for addiction or was it set in an alternate reality where “new” drugs exist that actually have that effect.
There were a lot of other inconsistencies and unanswered questions, but I wasn’t really invested enough to care. I also didn't really think either of the leads worked in their roles.
EDIT: Hayek's character also says at one point something along the lines of "there's a problem one level up", implying neither "level/reality" was real which I thought was going to be the reveal and would make sense as neither of the worlds presented felt "real".

Bit of a cop-out too. Very underwhelming overall.
