Jonestown. Nuff said. The Rajneeshees in Oregon and what they tried to do with that bio-attack is just insane to think about. Historical examples that sound pretty sinister include the Thuggee and the Leopard Society.

Thank God for Forensic Files or I'd never have heard of that one. Pretty sure most still haven't.

Colonia Dignidad.
Basically a community established by expat Nazi German fugitives in Chile, with the backing of Augusto Pinochet who used the site to detain, torture and murder dissidents. Led by a child molesting criminal called Paul Schäfer, it shared a lot of similarities with Jonestown. Elements of Colonia Dignidad still exist to this day.

Borderland (2007)
Loosely based on actual events which occurred in Mexico in 1989. A group of "narcosatanicos" were discovered to have killed at least 20 people and used their body parts in ritual sacrifices. Cult members lead by Adolfo Constanzo and Sara Aldrete were responsible for the abduction and murder of Mark Kilroy, a Texan pre-med student who disappeared in March 1989 during a spring break in Mexico...

That's it! I remembered some wacko cult that were also drug dealers. Crazy just crazy stuff.

I'll have to look them up later.

Heaven's Gate.
As soon as the news reports mentioned vans going in and out of the compound with computers in New Mexico or Arizona or one of those Southwestern desert states, I knew UFOs were involved.
