It's true that Napoleon wasn't exactly a crack shot with a musket or pistol...
Totally different story with artillery, though.
In 1814, as France was being invaded by massive Coalition armies, the Emperor was witnessed on several occasions personally taking command of individual cannon crews and correcting/directing their fire, to excellent effect.
(Some historians surmise that Napoleon had a death-wish at the time, hoping to be "gloriously" killed in battle as his empire collapsed. At the Battle of Arcis, he deliberately rode his horse over a sputtering howitzer shell, which exploded... The unfortunate horse was blown to pieces, but Napoleon himself was unscathed apart from some minor bruises. He was covered in horse guts, however...)
