What do these lines have in common?
¨The whole thing is a stench in my nostrils.¨
¨I¨ve come to the end.¨
¨It leaves me cold.¨
¨It makes my gorge rise.¨
¨I´ve withdrawn from the battle.¨
¨It is of no consequence.¨

Alternative options if FRANKLY MY DEAR, I DON'T GIVE A DAMN hadn't got permission to be used. Yep, also these: I don*t care. I don*t give a straw. The devil may care...I don*t! I don*t give a Continental..." (?) I don*t give a hoot! I don*t give a whoop! (I didn*t know that was even an expression in 1939, let alone the 19th century). Today, of course, the line that was eventually used in the movie would be considered too tame....Rhett would have just said ¨Go f*** yourself!¨ and audiences would applaud.
