I knew it. They dim the sky so it's not like full daylight. It costs too much to render CGI in full daylight type environment.
Interesting that they associate apes with rap music.
The original trailer has better ad copy and music.

The original trailer has better ad copy and music. Kong: Skull Island was mostly filmed in daytime enviornment and I thought the CGI was terrific, some of the best I've ever seen. Heres hoping the night scenes are just minimal in Godzilla vs Kong.

Kong: Skull Island was mostly filmed in daytime enviornment and I thought the CGI was terrific, some of the best I've ever seen. Overcast and muted sunlight. They won't have full blast sunny skies because it is computationally expensive.
The other issue with the CGI besides the superhuman camera operator (the camera moves in ways that would be impossible in a real world environment thus betraying that it is a cgi world) is that 500 foot creatures would move much slower and hardly have any motion blur, especially since much of the time we are watching them from miles away.
The shot of Kong punching Godzilla is slowed down about right, but it's the whole shot that's slow, so it's not really the right way it would be. They have to speed things up anyway because of the cgi costs.

Hahahhaha you're acting like as if Godzilla and Kong were real creatures. There are no 500 foot creatures in real life. It's a movie. I seriously don't have to explain that to you. Compared to the previous 2 Godzilla films, I thought Skull Island had far better CGI and the daytime scenes looked nice. I was never a fan of that crappy clown suit we saw in old monster movies. It looked awful and I'll take well rendered CGI any day over it. I'm a big supporter of practical effects but they didn't always look great.

The hell is that freighter made of?
I wish Skull Island hadn't made Kong the same size as Godzilla. I get they're trying to make the fight more "even", but we know monkeys are strong little bastards that'll rip your face off. I think it'd more interesting visually with a smaller Kong, like David and Goliath.
And I see they got Rebecca Hall to join the list of talented A list actors to serve as window dressing and spout hilariously cheesy lines. "Godzilla is out there hurting people and we don't know why!"

That's what happens when you try to feed Godzilla hard-boiled eggs and have sex with him.

I wouldn't call Rebecca Hall talented or talented in such a way that she's immune to starring in films that would increase her appeal if she has any to begin with.

Yeah you can see his head about three seconds in. I just wonder if Kong fights Mecha-Godzilla disguised as the real Godzilla at any point. Or if Mecha-Godzilla is meant as a deterrent against a rogue Godzilla but goes full Frankenstein instead.

It was a decent trailer till that geek noise piped in. It wasn't music. Some kind of rap for dorks. I couldn't sit through more than ten seconds of that "hater noise". A person needs tons of prescription valium to handle that noise, and doctors only prescribe that to their mob family members.
Guess I'll skip this movie. Too bad. The rest of the trailer showed potential.
