"Most men would never hit on a falling down drunk." - which I don't think is untrue, but the movie is about the ones that would. "The main character is portrayed as always in a bad mood, unexplicably rude, never smiling, unambitious, unappreciative..." - those are symptoms of PTSD, which the main character obviously has. Yeah, she's not "attractive", but she's not supposed to be. Do people criticize Travis Bickle for being unattractive? And your argument for the male characters wasn't that they were one-dimensional, it was that they were predators and pussies. A sleazy lawyer turned remorseful good guy is by definition not one-dimensional. The love interest was obviously complex. Even the guy who raped her friend, the Big Bad, insisted on being faithful to his fiance. The only character without any redeeming qualities, as HFR said, was probably Connie Britton's. All that was in the second half. I said the second half was good. The first half was boring, slow and uninteresting. Well, it wasn't clear then when you were just criticizing the first half or the movie in general. Fair enough I suppose.

Perhaps if you didn't argue with me about elements from the second half, or say things like "This is a typical man hating women's rights movie" which certainly sounds like a whole-movie critique.

I understand your confusion. This could happen to anybody. I don't think you are stupid for making this mistake. But it's still your mistake. None of the men in the movie were impressive to me. The first half was boring, slow and uninteresting. The second half was better. But none of the male characters were impressive. My complaints and criticisms have never changed.
