Legendary has been trying to launch a franchise off the classic pulp property since 2018. I like Clooney but how many films can you get out of him before he's too old? He's already 59.

I only know Buck Rogers from the 80s TV show, in which he was played by an actor much younger than 59. It would be weird to see George Clooney in the role.

Same goes for Harrison Ford! It seems like Ford is going to be making Raiders type films until he's in a wheelchair, and probably even then. When is Hollywood going to give younger actors a chance? I don't include actresses in my question since older actresses seldom get parts anyway. They are discarded for younger ones.

A middle aged actor wanting to play an action hero when there's much better younger actors with more agility in their hair... Yep, welcome back to normality after covid.

It's probably also the choice of the studio. They are the ones screenlighting all these movies with 70 year old action heroes (Die Hard whatever and Lethal Weapon etc). God help us if they have a young strong male character presented in a heroic fashion. Even in the Gil Gerard series, he complained it was too jokey with the one liners--which it was. They didn't like to show him in an action man mode.
