By that I mean, Whole Foods or Panera, and I buy a 24 ounce container, can I bring it home, freeze it and take it home, then take the container out when I want?
We're looking at 8 days of snow headed our way and soup would be nice....
Kinda need to know in the next few hours.
Fresh over canned. Does that make a difference?

My mom and grandma froze the soups they made, autumn. I wonder about preservatives helping. I'd try to freeze it. Tell us what happens

Probably, but leave room in the container for expansion when the liquid freezes.

Depending on the container-I would put it in one that doesn't expand(like Tupperware). Be sure to put it into the refirgerator the night before you want it though. A slow thaw is the best way.
