I bought it on a whim some time ago, even though I had no idea what I was going to do with it. Any suggestions? Let it thaw in the fridge and eat it in thin raw slices with rice and soy sauce? try my hand at a poke bowl? Grill it a little bit on the outside, leaving a red centre (it's a pretty thick piece)?

"Thaw it out and feed it to the raccoons."
LOL.
Seriously, Jep, I would thaw it, in the 'fridge. You say that it's thick, so maybe late-afternoon, before the evening you cook/serve it(?). I can't offer recipe suggestions, as I don't care for the texture of tuna steaks, so I don't buy them. I love canned tuna, for all manner of salads/sammies, and so on.
Good luck.

Don't eat it raw unless it's sushi-grade, even having been frozen. I usually do a version of this, with peppercorns in a cast iron pan. www.allrecipes.com/recipe/160099/seared-ahi-tuna-steaks/I have used a few of these. www.wikihow.com/Cook-Ahi-Tuna

I made one once, they're good if you like tuna. I grilled it in a skillet, kept the lid on it so it wouldn't dry out, and if memory serves, put steak sauce on it. The recipes say to only cook it enough it's still pink inside, but mine wasn't by the time I was done with it.

I don't think I've had it for more than six months. Probably about three months - but I don't know anymore. 2020 was a blur, what with the pandemic, so it could have been longer.

It turned out pretty good, although I think I went a bit too far with the seasoning. Next time (and there will be a next time) I will exercise more caution.
