The shortlists:1) WHAT WE WANTED was one of my favorite films of 2020, so I'm disappointed that it didn't get shortlisted for Best International Film.
2) I thought THE INVISIBLE MAN had more possibilities of making it on the Best Visual Effects list than any other, so Best Score is a pleasant surprise.
3) I didn't expect to see JINGLE JANGLE in any category. If you had told me it would be shortlisted for Best Song, I would've assumed it was one of the more traditionally feel good songs. They chose MAKE IT WORK instead and I think it was a good pick.
4) I hadn't seen BIRDS OF PREY in many ceremonies up until now, so I'm shocked to see it in these categories. In fact, I thought WONDER WOMAN 1984 had better chances of making it on the Best Visual Effects list.
5) I didn't know if the entire CANVAS / COPS AND ROBBERS / IF ANYTHING HAPPENS I LOVE YOU trio would get nominated, but I assumed they were all going to get shortlisted due to the hype surrounding them. Well, I think they chose the best of the three.
