Maybe it's not off-topic since the TOY STORY character could eventually be changed to match this, but we don't know yet. So far, the news only refers to the real-life toy. This message feels like "We encourage everyone to lose their labels" when it should actually be "We encourage everyone to be whoever they want to be, labels or not." I think it would be better to create a non-binary character and give them the same last name. By the way, what will Hasbro do to the Mrs.?

OH JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!!!! ENOUGH!!!! The “They” people are a VERY SMALL minority!!! This is not something that should even be discussed yet brought up. YEA I realize these people exist, but do I think they care that some people don’t have pronouns? FUCK NO!!!!
Companies shouldn’t need to speak for certain people. If I was a “they” this would bother me. This is making a mountain out of an ant hill. Shit like this needs to STOP!!!

It’s not really that big of a deal since everyone just called him Potato Head anyway, but it’s silly.
Literally no one was offended by the “Mister.”

The fact that a potato toy making company has successfully and rather stupidly stolen the spotlight during a global pandemic is hilarious.

The fact that a potato toy making company has successfully and rather stupidly stolen the spotlight during a global pandemic is hilarious. Right? And apparently people like VITS are the only ones that care or else he’d have not posted it.

What I find laughable is all the people that this change bothers. Who cares? EITHER WAY?
When was the last time you people even had ANY connection to the toy outside of the Toy Story movies? Now all of a sudden its an important issue?
Who really cares?

Now all of a sudden its an important issue? Who really cares? That’s just it. It’s not an important issue. Hell it’s even less of one during a fucking pandemic. If Hasbro hadn’t said anything no one would have cared. I’m not even sure why Hasbro is doing this because they’re toys. I guess another reason I find this to make no sense is because what if they do it to Spiderman, Iron Man or hell even PAC Man. Things like that don’t need to be changed.

Retooled? I didn't know Mr. Potato Head had a sexual organ.

Do children even still play with the Potato Head toys? I had one when I was little, but that was solely because of Toy Story.

They could have just introduce a new potato.
Why can’t you still have a “Mr. Potato Head”, a “Mrs. Potato Head” and a “Potato Head”?
There are still men and there are still women. Just add a non-binary potato being.
I think they had good intentions, but they didn’t execute it well. You don’t have to replace Mr. and Mrs.

Apparently they retracted their decision. Smart decision.

Literally no one was offended by the “Mister.”I wonder if someone might soon get upset by the name of former pop-rock 80s band, Mr. Mister and then demand a few changes, in order to appeal to an broader audience?

Do children even still play with the Potato Head toys? I had one when I was little, but that was solely because of Toy Story. Maybe it was an American thing?. As I never once knew about any kid at school, or of those who lived in my neighbourhood, who owned an potato headed toy back in the 90s. And even when the Toy Story movie hit off big time, I never once saw or heard any kids wishing for a potato toy, for their birthdays or Christmas. Then again, I have not exactly ran down any of the nearest toy stores, for a while now, so maybe these Potato toys are back in action with todays younger customers. The only real popular potato product, which seemed to hit off well, with both kids, teenagers and adult back then, came through the extremely popular mid 90s Christmas Advent Calendar tv-series, The Julekalender (1994) and where the tasty Olaf Sand's rifla potetflak (potato chips) became "legendary" at least for a while that is: And of course, the infamous Vampaj Potæten or the Vampire Potato lady, who appeared in an episode of Darkwing Duck:
