Trying to help my parents get their shots. After a week of the pharmacy telling me I had to call the health department, and the health department telling me I had to call the pharmacy, the pharmacy finally said I could schedule an appointment on their website. Finding the place on the website to schedule an appointment wasn't intuitive, but I finally found it. My mom will have trouble getting out of the house, so I don't know what to do about her (and there seems to be no plan to get people out to housebound folks), but I thought I could at least schedule my dad for a shot.
No spots were open. Kept refreshing, finally found one open spot. By the time I finished filling in all necessary info, the spot was no longer available. Now I have to keep refreshing the page. To make it even harder, the website automatically signs you out entirely after a few minutes, so I have to go back into the site again and again. Fun times.

Running into the same problem with my mom. What a cluster the whole roll-out has been. I feel fortunate I'm a health care worker and can just get it through my job.

Finally got my dad schedule through the health department. His appointment is March 2nd. The only possible wrench I can foresee is if things take a turn for the worse with my grandma (see my post about what a nightmare this year has been), and he might end up missing it. For my mom, still no news on what to do with homebound people.

That's a shame it's been such a hassle to get them vaccinated
My mom and I didn't have a problem. We made our appts through United Healthcare, I believe. Going for our second one next week
My mom is somewhat housebound. We have a stair chair for her and we use a transfer chair to get her around

It’s a lot more straightforward here in the UK going by my experience. When I received my letter I was given the website information and booked both shots in under 5 minutes. All I had to do was give my name, NHS number and postal code and I’ll be jabbed on Wednesday.
Hopefully I won’t die.

Yeah, going through that for weeks in NJ. We're going to drive to a mega site about 25 minutes from here and sit in a line just to MAKE an appointment. So horrible.

No, they have you wait 15 minutes before leaving just in case

My dad got his first shot today. It was the Moderna shot. He has no adverse reaction, thankfully.

My mom has an appointment for her first shot. We were able to get a ride to take her in her chair. Now I just have to wait until I'm eligible.

I’m having the same as you. It started happening just as I went to bed and I felt too tired to go and get some painkillers. Having a massive leg cramp during the night added to the fun. I’m not used to feeling unwell so I’m feeling sorry for myself.

The liquid paracetamol has done the trick even though the bottle says it expired last November.
