One problem I have with a Calvin Ellis film is that we haven’t seen an ideal Clark Kent one yet. The Donner films were a little too whimsical and the Snyder films weren’t good enough. I just know that if a Calvin Ellis film is made it could be better, because Superman has high potential, but it will be claimed that the colour of his skin is the reason for the success. Then we’ll never see another Clark Kent film for a long time.
Make a good Clark Kent film before doing a Calvin Ellis one.

I'll bet they make Superman a transgender, non-binary Muslim or something. And take the "Man" out of his name while they're at it, since it'll be considered offensive.

Ah, another superhero film, but even more to the point, another Superman film. A Superhero movie you don't have to watch you mean. Quite, and I have a feeling many others won't as well. The issue being that funds that could be directed to more meaningful and interesting films won't be made due to another Superman bust.

The best Superman I’ve seen is the one from the 90s animated series and the Justice League series that followed. That’s what DC needs to use as the base for future movies. As for possibly tokenizing Superman, don’t do it. There’s a laundry list of great black super heroes to adapt first and, from what I’ve heard, that’s what the African American community really wants.

Interesting projects like what? I don't know. I'm merely speculating that many other scripts (that we don't know about) that won't get a green light are due to more redone Superman movies. How many more times does it need to be rebooted?

Making Superman black will be the last nail in the coffin of Hollywood.

A Superman movie written by the controversial Ta-Nehisi Coates - who once called the first responders to 9/11 'menaces of nature' - and produced by JJ Abrams? Pass! And according to rumor this Superman will be Calvin Ellis, who was based on Barack Obama so don't be shocked if its fairly political. I’m out. All the people who are going to say you’re racist can first hear this. What if they made a Blade or Shaft movie and casted a white guy as lead? People would freak. Nonsense. Did people freak when Nick Fury was refashioned after Samuel L. Jackson? Nope. Did people freak when Miles Morales was Spiderman and the lead in the excellent Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse movie? Nope. It's not even the first time Superman has been race-swapped. Where do you think Steel came from? Hell, Superman has been depicted as communist before in Red Sun. I didn't see the right-wing popping monocles about that.

Well, whatever happens, it won't be starring Michael B. Jordan.
