According to Esquire Magazine. Who has ranked all of Snyder’s films (poorly, I might add)... had this to say about “300”
“Snyder's breakout success inspired an entire generation of dudes quoting Leonidas at the gym. For what it lacks in any actual substance, 300 more than makes up in absolutely stunning action. The film defined Snyder's visual style, bringing Frank Miller and Lynn Varley's comics to life like a beautiful, violent, moving oil painting. However, it's impossible to watch this today and ignore the story's inherent fascism, racism, and other problematic elements.“
What? They ranked it 4th (clearly his best film) because of racism and fascism? It’s a historic film. And according to “History Buffs” on YouTube it’s the most historically accurate film outside of “Gettysburg”. And guess what? Movies about Moses has slavery. Movies about Gladiators too. JoJo Rabbit had a fascist leader. Who writes this crap?
Esquire Rankings:
8. Sucker Punch 7. Josstice League 6. Legend of the Guardians 5. Watchmen (WTF?) 4. 300 3. BvS 2. Man of Steel 1. Dawn of the Dead

Dawn of the Dead They must have been joking. Look at it, it's a live action cartoon. What was accurate? The Persian army being filled with mutants and hurling explosives at the Greeks? The Spartans breaking ranks and doing individual video game attacks instead of acting as a unit? 300 is a blast, it really is; but historically accurate?! The racism was kind of the point, it's an exaggerated account of the story where the narrator is dehumanizing the enemy. It's classic wartime propaganda and psychology. Cinematically speaking, it's completely absurd and over the top (see: mutants and explosives). As for fascism...I mean, it's Sparta. One of the most militaristic societies in ancient history. So yeah. I'm not a huge Snyder fan, but those rankings don't seem crazy to me. It's not like any of his films are truly great. 300 would be higher for me because I think it has a greater rewatchability factor. Man of Steel is a decent flick until the third act, I'd have it much lower. BvS is worth watching for the insanity of Batman alone. I appreciate what Snyder attempted with Watchmen, but it's clear he didn't understand the original story.

Sure, he adds a lot of weird over the top mythical stuff, but the story overall is very historically accurate.

What? They ranked it 4th (clearly his best film) because of racism and fascism? They never said that. You've made that assumption based on how you rate the film. No new news either. 300 has been accused of racism, fascism, homophobia and homoerotica and historical inaccuracy since it was published in the 90's and on the release of the film. You brought up the slavery issue. And not sure what YouTube videos you've been watching, but the Spartans had slaves, the Persians outlawed slavery. Not sure at all what relevance JoJo Rabbit has.

You can't argue the film overall is historically accurate when it's filled with that amount of craziness. 'Based on true events' is a far cry from 'historically accurate.' It's not like there was a ton of battlefield strategy that needed to be recreated. The movie is nuts, that's what I love about it. Regarding Watchmen, pinning it on DM is a better ending than a giant squid; but almost everything else about the movie is a mess. Snyder butchered most of the central characters, especially the main antagonist. He pulled off the impossible-- he made Watchmen generic.

I don't think it's racist but I found it to be a crappy Gladiator rip off. Gerard Butler shouting for 2 hrs and crappy graphics, it looked like a video game. Historically accurate? It's a comic book movie lol.
Awful movie.

300 is near unwatchable for me and one of the most cringe-inducing movies I have ever seen, but I can't say I find it racist.
1. Watchmen 2. Man of Steel 3. Dawn of the Dead 4. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice 5. Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole 6. 300 7. Sucker Punch

Should “Josstice League” be included as a Zack Snyder film? Exactly, it shouldn’t. Because Esquire did the ranking. I was thinking “shouldn’t they wait until his version?”

It's racist because Persia during the period had boundaries from present day Turkey to Afghanistan to Egypt. Sparta and Athens comprised basically the southern portion of present day Greece. That portion of Greece wasn't exactly "multicultural" while Persia clearly had to be. I'm not sure what makes the film racist. The Spartans held the Persians off long enough for the rest of the Greek city states to rally.
