An amazing TV series---Its the only TV series that I've ever "binge-watched"--so intelligently written,so well acted--It made all other TV medical dramas pale in comparison

Gregory House is a terrific character and the show is full of memorable episodes and scenes. But then there are serious flaws that bring down my rating. It's a little too formulaic. It became too much like a soap opera in the later seasons so that I lost interest. And the stuff about doctors investigating patients' homes is ridiculous and hurts suspension of disbelief.

Let's talk about House, that grumpy superdoctor, who always managed to cure the patient, eventually, and usually only after being wrong a dozen times and overhearing just the right clue at the right time. I'm still giving it an 8 though, I loved this show, Hugh Laurie never had a better role. Well, apart from Blackadder and A bit of Fry and Laurie, ofcourse. The show was fun, the ending was excellent. I've got to say, House's deductive ability (or lack thereof) annoys me a bit. Yes, he saves the patient--but after going through every single possible guess at diagnosis there is! What kind of master diagnostician is that?! As far as detectives or doctors go, House is a bit weak. With all that said, Laurie is indeed superb, though I do find the character irritating. Hmm... I can't think of a rating (I tend not to like numerical ratings, anyway), but then again I probably haven't seen enough episodes to be a fair judge. I guess because the other doctors would simply fail and the patient would die and only the autopsy might tell what was the reason. But the show also also crappy written at times when it is about the medical facts. Example: in one case the patient suffered from the Lyme borreliosis but the team had already put aside this possibility due to the lack of the red spot aka bull's eye rash...it was until House came to the idea to shave the man's had and there it was. The thing is that only in around 70% to 80% of all infections will occure a rash around the tick bite. So to rule it out due the the lack of it just like flipping a coin* or highly unprofessional. *I once read - after I had been bitten by a tick- that it is only 50%, not 70%-80%, hence I went to my doctor and had a blood check.

9/10, because I wish Kathryn Adams's character had stuck around for more than three episodes.

I used to really enjoy this show- then I had surgery in real life and became something of a hypochondriac. I won't go near a show like this now! I would basically leave every episode thinking I have the super rare disease! But I did basically see every episode when it was on. The only thing I hated was how formulaic it was. Also, some of the supporting cast was a bit generic. I never liked Foreman, the Australian guy or the brunette girl. I will have to respectfully disagree with my compadres Nalkarj and BATouttaheck on the character of House though. I LOVED how unapologetically mean and cynical the character was. I found it sort of refreshing and the fact that there was a good and decent human being underneath it all made him all the more interesting... Just my opinion though.

9/10
Really great show! I’ve watched the whole show twice, but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll ever be able to watch it again due to having developed rather extreme hypochondria.

House was a pretty good show but the endless manipulation of his staff got tiresome, the later characters weren't as good, and they ran out of ideas - House and Cuddy together was ludicrous.
