The Decca guy saying that guitar music was out was just an excuse. On New Year's Day, 1962, Decca, looking for a beat group, auditioned two promising young bands: Brian Poole and the Tremeloes and the Beatles. Decca chose the Tremeloes, reportedly based on location – the Tremeloes were from the London area, making them more accessible than the Liverpool-based Beatles.
But they also had opportunities to sign the Kinks, the Who, the Yardbirds, but didn't. But they did get the Stones.

The chord opening A Hard Day's Night

The chord opening A Hard Day's Night Think about the complexity, as discussed here, of this WORLD FAMOUS, what, 2, maybe 3 SECOND opening chord to just this ONE Beatle song, and in a nutshell, you have EVERYTHING that defined why this group was SO special......and maybe even the MOST special pop/rock group that has yet existed. Noted musicians, around the world, who have been playing around with just this one CHORD, trying to figure it out for many, many years.....never mind how many people, dating back to the early 60's, that have been doing the EXACT same thing with multitudes of entire Beatle songs (okay......I'm guessing not too many musically-inclined people have been delving into "Revolution No. 9", trying to discovery the mysteries of that particular, uh, " song".......but I digress.....) To put it another way, there's a VERY good reason you don't exactly have ARMIES of musicians going through and tearing apart all the songs in the Milli Vanilli or Britney Spears catalogs, hoping to discover the secrets behind all their "masterpieces". No.....THAT kind of devotion is almost always devoted only to things that REALLY matter...... norselandsrock.com/revolution-nine-beatles/Btw, LOVE Randy Bachman's giddiness in having finally figured out this little Beatle "mystery", and his palpable JOY in getting to share it with an ENTIRE AUDIENCE !! Thanks for posting this..... GREAT STUFF !! SAVE FERRIS

Well.......I watched the first half of Part 3 of Peter Jackson's Get Back last night on the Disney Channel. I saw the original Let It Be on the box way back when.....and have a nice crisp, sounding pirate dvd of it.
Gonna crack a bottle of Merlot and shove the headphones on this week for the rooftop gig.
Happy days.

Hi thanx for the heads up, msd. Nice thought.....and wild wosnames would not have kept me away from the local bijou in a pre covid England. Bit of a drag as it's finally out in the cinema again , albeit briefly, after decades .....and bloody pandemic is around. I hope it's released on dvd.

Adolf Hitler (See Red Arrow, Third Photo Down) Came Very Close To Making The Final Sgt. Pepper's Album Cover Photo, As Did Mahatma Gandhi (Whose Face Would Be Covered Over By A Palm Frond And Then Painted Out In The Final Version), And Can Be Seen Here, Two Spots Behind Diana Dors, Who Is At The Far (Front) Right In The Fancy Dress ( Johnny Weissmuller, Hidden Here Directly Behind Dors, Would Eventually Be Moved In The Final Version, To Fill The Slot Vacated When The Hitler Figure Was Moved) Ready For The Final Shot: Notice That Hitler (See Red Arrow) Has Now Been Moved From The Lineup, Johnny Weissmuller Has Been Moved Over Into The Newly Opened Spot, And The Gandhi Figure Has Been Covered With The Palm Tree Fronds (Executives Were Concerned That His Presence On The Cover Could Be Considered Sacrilegious In India). Leo Gorcey (Back Row, 4th Figure From Right) Was Now The Only Figure Remaining That Would Be Photographed, But Not Make It To The Final Album Cover (See Explanation Below). Leo Gorcey (Seen Here Next To Huntz Hall, Both Famous For Their Bowery Boys Films) Was Actually Included In The Photo Used For The Cover (Back Row, Right Side), But His Image Was Eventually Painted Over With Blue Sky Background Before Going To Press, After Demanding A Payment To Have His Image Included In The Shot (None Of The People On The Cover, Or Their Estates, Were Paid To Be Included.....And Were All Just A Random Assortment Of Notable Or Admired Figures Selected By Each Of The 4 Beatles, With A Few Selected By Other Creative People That Helped The Band Create Their Landmark Album Cover). www.feelnumb.com/2010/01/24/adolf-hitler-did-not-make-the-cut-on-the-beatles-sgt-pepper-album-cover/www.portablepress.com/blog/2016/01/7-people-didnt-make-cover-beatles-sgt-peppers-lonely-hearts-club-band-2/www.history.com/news/5-historical-figures-erased-from-the-sgt-pepper-cover Final Photo As It Appeared On The Actual Album 1.
