In my Youtube account I got recommended a video from Living Waters which is the ministry of Ray Comfort. I have know about this guy for a few years now. Hes one of those strict evangelical guys who goes around calling people bad if they dont strictly believe in his religion. Also hes done a lot of anti homosexual stuff. Anyway I clicked on the video out of curiosity. I realized thats my own fault. The conversation turned to suicide. I myself have struggled with suicidal thoughts and severe depression.
This is the comment. I will leave out names.
Commenter 1: I will never understand why so many young people have suicidal thoughts?
ME: I have. I have a chemical imbalance that causes depression in the extream. It makes me feel hopeless to say the least.
Living Waters: Be careful of talk about chemical imbalances. Read the Word daily, trust the Lord, and as you do that He will give you joy.
Be careful? of what? I asked what Ray meant by that. I got no answer. I may be talking this too seriously but I find that a little insulting. Be carful of talking about what issues I have? I have seen Rays other posts to people, he seems like a real jackass.

Look he thinks the banana is the atheist's nightmare and his friend Kirk Cameron thinks we need to find a crocoduck in order to prove evolution.
That should tell you all you need to know about Ray Comfort.

He (or his team that replies to viewer comments) must have been thinking "chemical imbalance = alcoholism or drug use/addiction".

These people live in a demon haunted world where if there isn’t an answer to be found in the Good Book, it’s most likely evil. That scientists have the proof the earth is older than 6,000 years, well that just proves, in their minds, it’s all coming from Satan. And these are the folks most apt to support Trumpism, so.... More people need to read Carl Sagan's book: The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark Paperback – February 25, 1997 by Carl Sagan (Author), Ann Druyan (Author) 4.8 out of 5 stars 2,796 ratings “A glorious book . . . A spirited defense of science . . . From the first page to the last, this book is a manifesto for clear thought.”—Los Angeles Times How can we make intelligent decisions about our increasingly technology-driven lives if we don’t understand the difference between the myths of pseudoscience and the testable hypotheses of science? Pulitzer Prize-winning author and distinguished astronomer Carl Sagan argues that scientific thinking is critical not only to the pursuit of truth but to the very well-being of our democratic institutions. Casting a wide net through history and culture, Sagan examines and authoritatively debunks such celebrated fallacies of the past as witchcraft, faith healing, demons, and UFOs. And yet, disturbingly, in today's so-called information age, pseudoscience is burgeoning with stories of alien abduction, channeling past lives, and communal hallucinations commanding growing attention and respect. As Sagan demonstrates with lucid eloquence, the siren song of unreason is not just a cultural wrong turn but a dangerous plunge into darkness that threatens our most basic freedoms. Praise for The Demon-Haunted World “Powerful . . . A stirring defense of informed rationality. . . Rich in surprising information and beautiful writing.”—The Washington Post Book World “Compelling.”—USA Today “A clear vision of what good science means and why it makes a difference. . . . A testimonial to the power of science and a warning of the dangers of unrestrained credulity.”—The Sciences

These people are sick and delusional and will do anything to make us all as sick and delusional as them. They need a God to exist, because reality is too scary for them to deal with.
Ray Comfort isn't even a good apologist.

It is so ridiculous that I think these types of religious people are trolling. I mean, he doesn't even try to make such a creature believable. If I were to try and draw such a fake "transitional" life form, it would be a duck with scales or something, not a duck body with a crocodile head. How about a giant bird that can't fly or a mammal with wings? It seems like this would qualify for them. Wouldn't a bat be a rat-bird according to their POV. Also, we found Tiktaalik. Saving Christmas is beyond awful and offensive, but it is sort of hilarious at the same time. Kirk Cameron just makes shit up to serve his agenda. News flash btw. Disproving evolution wouldn't prove God, as much as they would like to make you think it would.

That is of course a ridiculous claim and they need you to disbelieve those things so that you can come to the truth. Ignorance is bliss. Religion wants to confuse you and then give you something even more confusing and tell you it makes sense...just because.

These people believe the Bible holds all the answers and that with enough faith in God one can overcome ANY trial or tribulation. Christ is the answer. He probably believes this And the upshot is that IF someone succumbs to any test/tribulation, it is THEIR deficiency and THEY failed to have enough faith in God.
Basically, their God has the easiest job in the world. If anything goes right, HE gets all the credit. IF anything goes wrong, it's obviously someone else's fault.

I should have said "certain theists," not all of them. I was specifically referring to theists like Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron.

That's a horribly laughable and obviously generic response from "Living Waters".
Ray Comfort is responsible for everyone who ministers from his office, so I'll lay it on Waters himself. Who knows? Maybe he even accepts the blame for this being a horrible, irrelevant answer to your suffering.
The person who gave you that response may have even had good intentions, but obviously was "out of touch with reality", but again, as always, most people responding here are misdiagnosing the reality. If demonic forces weren't a reality, there wouldn't be such a ridiculous and depressing response to the problem you were suffering from.
To tell someone to "read the Bible" or any of those other generic responses "lets see what God says", "this book is all you need", is like a Monty Python dark comedy sketch, except these people are quite serious, and that's significant, because it does show that even they suffer from demonic influence. Every mortal does. If every mortal didn't suffer from demonic forces pushed upon them, they wouldn't be slaves to the flesh.
To live in the flesh is to be a slave, and unfortunately, tragically, it means we're all born sons to Satan in the flesh. How did we get there? If we weren't sons of the inferior flesh, we would know, but we don't know, which is also significant.
Now, lets take the response. What worse response could there be for depression than to give the most depressing advice imaginable. The Bible is one of the most depressing books ever written. For it to continue through all these centuries has to be supernaturally induced. It defies all laws of "marketing", to tell people that if they do what God wants, they can be crucified, flayed alive, burned alive, or beheaded. Wow! That's some marketing.
The story of Job, how can that not be depressing? The story of King David sending Uriah to battle to be abandoned by his comrades, to die so the king can have his wife, with the king not suffering one bit of punishment from God for that. The story of a prophet doing his job and then being horribly killed by a lion because an evil man tricked him, with the evil man not punished one iota. I could go on, but it's just flat out depressing.
So telling someone to "Read the word daily". Followed by "trust the lord, and as you do that he will give you joy", can't possibly be a rational response. There's no way to make it rational. There's no way to explain the response in a "natural way", so we're definitely talking about a negative supernatural influence there.
"Living Waters" could instead let you know that you're not alone. We're all in the same boat, and while we suffer in the flesh, in an inferior world, that as helpless as we are, we at least testify of the evil of the world, and testify even against the most powerful angels when we finally testify before the lord. Millions of people have gone through life with zero stewardship, just hardship of being forced to build great walls, build dams, march before soldiers into moats to be stampeded upon by the soldiers, and so forth. Their flesh never knew any comfort. How many souls never have a bit of stewardship? What percentage? Is it 66.67%? Is it 90%?
Yet those souls lived, and some living will also never know of any stewardship. Many will never be assigned to a position. Many will never be voted to office. Many will never make one iota of difference to the world. In fact, most won't. So no wonder that we are depressed. Even those with no chemcial imbalance will soon be afflicted with such an imbalance, unless they are blessed with some power.
All of this you will one day testify to the good lord, because you want to know a good lord instead of an evil lord. You indicate this by your disgust of demonic forces, whether you know it or not, and so when you no longer read the meter of a brain of flesh, you will not be imprisoned by flesh.
Now, how can you avoid suicide with this information? Since the information indicates that this world is not worth living in? Because you have a job to do for the good lord, or if you don't want to accept there is a "good lord" with superior rules for a superior existence, then a job to do for yourself and for the power of good, the power of love, if that's how you want to accept it. That's why no one can pronounce the real name of Jesus, nor picture him, because the power of good is the Holy Ghost, and that's what Jesus clearly said over and over, and thus what he meant when he said the way was through him, through him because he had no name we could pronounce, but he was the love, the Holy Ghost, the good, the path to the superior world, not the world of the flesh.
So, to testify of all the evil you experience here, and of the evil principalities, you are thus supposed to endure this flesh as long as you can take it. Who knows? Perhaps even the poor soul who gave you poor advice will also be there to testify against the demonic powers. After all, he's just another simple mortal who doesn't even know where he came from before he was born.
It's ironic that "Comfort" probably thinks he has the correct name, and those working for him actually think they give "comfort", but as you can see, there's absolutely no way in Nature that one can believe the advice given to you had any comfort? Indeed, it could only be more depressing and discomforting. That's how you know the demonic forces are so powerful. There has to be some "negative supernatural influence" at work. Once we realize it is principalities who are responsible (they take the credit, so the must also take all the blame), and the mortals, including ourselves, are just weak, ignorant fools working from total lack of information, then we can at least begin with the simple clear headedness of Socrates.
