Anyone watching this right now? I actually bought the 4K and got it delivered on Tuesday but something about watching it on network television is filled with nostalgia.

I think ABC has played it every year before Easter since the early 1970's.

I've only watched its entirety once, yet the final act with all the effects stuff is pretty ageless.

Leonard Maltin Movie Guide Review:
The Ten Commandments (1956) - 4 out of 4 stars
"Vivid storytelling at its best. Biblical epic follows Moses' life from birth and abandonment through manhood, slavery, and trials in leading the Jews out of Egypt. Few subtleties in DeMille's second handling of this tale (first filmed in 1923) but few lulls, either. Parting of the Red Sea, writing of the holy tablets are unforgettable highlights. Roadshow version on video runs 231m. with overture, intermission/entr'acte, exit music. Oscar-winning special effects. VistaVision."

Seen it a few times before but what the hell, it’s such a good epic.

One of the greatest films ever made, IMO.
Such a timeless classic.

My all time favourite movie. What a cast, what a spectacle.

Dish Latino sucks ass, so they don’t carry ABC.
Strangely enough, even though it’s on TV practically every year, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the whole thing in one sitting.

If the exact same movie had come out in the 1990s or later, I doubt he'd have raved about it in that way.

Like other biblical epics (Ben-Hur, Greatest Story Ever Told) it certainly feels its length and a bit of a chore to sit through.

Sorry to rain on everyone's Easter parade but I don't like this film at all. Wonderful sets, costumes, colors, cinematography, and special effects but the dialog and acting are weak.
I was flipping back and forth between The Ten Commandments, The Alamo (1960), and the Gonzaga-UCLA game. Well, two out of three miraculous endings isn't bad.

I loved Anne Baxter’s performance. So lovable in the beginning, such a malignant bitch at the end.

I see that Anne Baxter's maternal grandfather was Frank Lloyd Wright.

Just like Eve Harrington in All About Eve
Anne Baxter seems to have capitalized on playing nasty, ruthless, scheming bitches.
