We could not get him any space in the hospital (The hospitals here in the Philippines are literally overrun with the sick), but its not like it would have mattered.
He refused to go, even if they had a space. He refused medicine to at least slow it down. Not because he didn't believe in it, but because I suspect he had lost his will to live and just let it take him.
His daughter begged him to accept our help, but he stopped accepting her calls after a while. She has yet to know what has happened.
It pisses me off that, if only our government had their heads pulled out of their asses long enough to not fuck up the delivery of the vaccines, he might have still been alive right now.

I'm sorry for your loss. That really sucks. It does seem strange that he refused medication. It sounds like a lot of people are refusing the vaccine, too.

I'm sorry for your loss. I had an relative die of Covid because he caught it at a family Christmas dinner. He made, in retrospect, a poor decision to attend that dinner. My wife and I chose to stay at home alone on Christmas and not have contact with our grandchildren who live 3 km away.
Decisions, decisions.
There are eight billion people in this world making millions of decisions every day based on the information at hand at the time of the decision. Despite the fact that thousands of people are dying every day, many are taking a cavalier attitude towards lockdown and mask wearing.
It pisses me off that everyone with 20-20 hindsight is willing to point the finger at someone who, in retrospect, made a wrong decision because they had limited information at the time of their decision making.
