Zack Snyder’s Official Trailer for “Army of the Dead is here:
If HBO Max and WB are stupid enough to let a filmmaker who is Writer, Director, Producer and Cinematographer for his own movie (look it up)... with a large fanbase who will watch his films on repeat... then WB is going to lose a large chunk of subscribers on HBO Max.
Netflix wants Snyder, they are letting him do his thing.
Maybe it is best to just let the SnyderVerse end at WB and DC, and let Zack get back to his own creative control at Netflix. Where the studio won’t interfere.
This looks badass.

Meh, I'm guessing this will more or less just be like the Dawn of the Dead remake.

A bit disappointed with the trailer. On paper it looks great - another Snyder zombie film, starring Bautista. But interest levels lowered a bit when its revealed there are intelligent and organised zombies. Plus it doesn't actually look that good. Hopefully I'm proved wrong. Can't be worse than Justice League

Can't be worse than Justice League I am sorry you don’t like this style of film. I truly wish everyone could appreciate it. But I also understand everyone had different taste. And that’s what makes the world great. Diversity. I myself think Zack Snyder’s Justice League was a top 5 comic book film, and this “Army of the Dead” looks great. Taking a traditional trope like “zombies” and making it into a heist film. It’s creative and unique. Also, using the zombies as an obstacle other than walking morons just to kill. They are a real threat. I personally think that trailer was amazing, including the song “The Gambler” by Kenny Rogers. It was great for a Vegas heist, but also the lyrics “knowing when to hold them and when to fold them, know when to walk away...” like the consequences or stakes in the film.

I like the idea of taking a traditional Zombie film and making it into a heist film. What a great way to combine two types of genres. At least it’s not a crappy Hollywood reboot or remake.

He did say it sounds great on paper, so he isn't complaining at all about the plot idea it seems. I myself have mixed feelings about Zack Snyder. He has great style sometimes, but more often than not it is over-bearing and he makes very dumb decisions a lot of time. Especially when it comes to the screenplays of his movies. I personally like Watchmen a lot, but most of his other movies range from decent to awful imo.

I'm not sure what you mean by "this style of film". Zombie films? I love them. Heist films? Ditto. Snyder films? I love his take on Dawn Of The Dead and Watchmen. I really like 300, and find Man Of Steel flawed, but entertaining/interesting. With JL there seems to be an elevation by some of Snyder to some sort of high level visionary auteur, when the film was basically a bad film expanded, yet remaining bad. Is it really that creative? It boils down to a group of people trying to achieve a goal and are hindered by an army of zombies. Like La Horde....a group of Police try to arrest a gang member in a tower block and an army of zombies get in the way. In fact there is even a shot in the trailer that looks like it was taken from La Horde. I'll watch it, and probably enjoy it, but if someone told me it was a Paul W S Anderson film, from that trailer, I'd believe them.

I love that this wasn’t all CGI in a green screen studio. ![](https://s.yimg.com/ny/api/res/1.2/5EAQ.2nA.DvK0.tV7KDFvQ--/YXBwaWQ9aGlnaGxhbmRlcjt3PTY0MDtoPTQyNi42NjY2NjY2NjY2NjY3/https://s.yimg.com/uu/api/res/1.2/k_5WuQqMpqbWYUGTC7mdEA--~B/aD0yMDAwO3c9MzAwMDthcHBpZD15dGFjaHlvbg--/https://media.zenfs.com/en/insider_articles_922/97c4a7dccec24a14b35dcdc44bc9eec3)

The Beast of the Haunted Cave had criminals doing a heist but that was separate from the monster story. In this case, wouldn't stealing gold be more useful since you can probably still use it as a currency in bad times. If there is a zombie outbreak--couldnt that affect the economy? Would you really be thinking--hey let's steal some money so we can buy things.
Wouldn't they be thinking--fuck money, I'll take what I need by gunpoint. Unless zombie outbreaks have become so routine--this is what the Variety article on nonsense being the new normal was talking about.
Did they think the plot through.

The fact that in the trailer it was revealed the robbers have 32 hours before Las Vegas is nuked by the government means there is an outside world outside of the zombie city for how long that lasts is anyone's guess.
