Murray didn't make Nothing But Trouble at least. I don’t understand what happened to Chase? After National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, it’s like he just fell off a cliff. There’s nothing great after that in his filmography.

Did Murray ever have a really awful late night talk show? No, he was too busy still making movies. He just popped up on Letterman every once in a while.

I am not a fan of either but Murray has the edge.
It is good that Chase had a talk show because if not for that then it wouldn't have failed and then Ross Schaeffer would not have taken over and do those tv reunion shows like Batman and Gilligan's Island--he got all the castaways on stage together
None of that fake Ginger stuff.
Sorry to digress but they should have paid Tina Louise anything to do those stupid reunion movies because the fake Ginger is so distracting as bad as the fake Darren or the fake master Tony.
They were going to do that with Star Trek--get another vulcan character instead of Spock and Khan as well.

Fun Story about their Rivalry:
In a curious move, Chase was invited back to host the show he left on poor terms in February 1978. Chase quickly realized that he had stepped into an environment that was "poisoned" against him.
Murray, who had known Chase since they worked at National Lampoon together a few years earlier, seemed eager to channel the resentment to a climax. Late in the week, he brashly addressed the elephant in the room by telling Chase that everyone hated him. This ignited a shouting match, with the tension continuing through dress rehearsal. Afterward, Murray zeroed in on Chase's well-known marital discord with Jacqueline Carlin, telling him, "Go f**k your wife, she needs it." Chase, in turn, noted that Murray's pock-marked face looked like a landing spot for Neil Armstrong.
Just before the show was set to air, Chase confronted Murray in Belushi's dressing room and challenged him to a fight. Murray lunged and Belushi leaped between the two larger men, drawing most of the punishment as the fists were flying.
Almost immediately after they were pulled apart, Chase took the stage to deliver his monologue to the happy, clueless audience. He later claimed he wasn't rattled by the fight, though his ex-castmates reportedly noticed a clear difference in his normally cocksure demeanor. Regardless, the ratings for SNL that week were the show's highest to date.

Both very dislikable in film and, apparently, in real life too. Murray will have to answer for his version of The Razor's Edge in the next world and I suspect the judgment will be swift and harsh. Nonetheless, his performance in Lost In Translation puts him just ahead of Chase.

Like buying an entire clothing shops merchandise in Wyoming randomly, buying kids ice cream, crashing parties of random people etc... Chase is an a—hole.

I'm not even going to dignify that question with an answer.
It would be a lot closer if you were just asking who is funnier.

Bill Murray has always had more range with his humor, but when Chevy Chase is funny he is very funny. I think you’re spot on. Honestly, I think Chevy Chase can make me laugh harder than Murray if he is on fire (pre-1990). But the problem is, it only happened a very few, handful of times. And when Chase is off, he’s not funny at all. Murray is consistently funny and has much more range. He can ad-lib in the spot. He can do different types of comedy as well.
