Anyone miss them? I loved them as a kid, we would get a bunch of White Castle hamburgers and Coke and sit in the car hoping to catch a breeze, this was in the 1950's when most people did not have air conditioning. Parents just had to pay by the car so it was cheap. The last time I was at a drive-in was in Aruba!!! That's where I saw the Blues Brothers. I wonder if any still exist.

Theres still one in my area...or about 30 minutes away. They usually do double and triple features in the summer.

Last Summer, I saw Jaws, Jurassic Park, and Raiders of the Lost Ark at the Drive-In. Some of my earliest movie memories were at the Drive-In (Batman, Ghostbusters II, Indy & Last Crusade).

They're actually making a comeback of sorts in Iowa. They have a mobile unit that they can set up in parking lots or neighborhoods to screen films.

I don't miss them, yet I do think smaller towns/regions/counties whatever should try to host as entertainment option. There are countless Ontario towns I've visited in warmer months, & I bet half of those could hire a kid to press play on a digital player for fun thrills May-Sept.
The last major one around me simply turned into a megaplex - Famous Players junked their drive-in for far more showings & of course money. Besides, the area is 24/7 lit up, a drive-in movie outdoors in any built up area might scuk.

I liked them in the 70s because we would see 4 movies a night sometimes. There were so many interesting movie choices then.

There is one a few cities where I live but we don't go there often. Last time I recall was when we went to go see a double feature of The Lorax and The Avengers.

Unfortunately I've never had the chance to go to one, they sound really fun though.

Saw a few when I was a kid in the early 80s. It was fun. One still exists south of Dallas on I45. I’ve thought of going there a few times but it’s a 5 or so hour drive from Houston. The ones that I remember seeing were Smokey and the Bandit part 2 and Empire Strikes Back. Dad said there were others we went To see but I don’t recall them.

What I miss is the movie choices we had. Back then you had so many interesting movies coming out each month. Or you might replay a movie from a few years earlier--a surprise replacement. Plus the drive-in ads.
This was always fun to see --spooky intro for R -rated movies we saw.

Used to be a lot in the area. Sadly, in the 80's, most went to porn.
John Holmes on a drive-in screen is somewhat terrifying. Godzilla would run and hide

Indoor cinemas where the chances of being shat on by a bird or being at the mercy of whatever freak weather god decides to throw at you that day are zero is better than outdoor cinemas. Can't believe outdoor cinemas were a thing fucking hell Americans are weird.

Oh yeah being cramped into your car for two hours like fucking sardines. As opposed to being crammed into a theater seat with a bunch of surrounding people?

Okay Bin Diesel, so you're going to be sat in your car with people behind you in the passenger seats trying to watch the movie behind or around that fat head of yours, fantastic.
