Largely I would argue movies are the worst for date night unless you’re already a long standing couple. In general, the movies are a lazy and impersonal date. “When Harry Met Sally. Could you maintain a rod while watching Billy Crystal? Don’t feel bad no one can.” I tend to divide my movie collection by various categories and I actually have a Billy Crystal section. One of my all time favorites, he’s rarely done wrong in my eyes. |

Clerks was a bad date movie. The girl I was dating was ready to leave about midway through. I left and didn't finish watching it until it was out for rental. She totally didn't get the humor or most of the references. I dont think she had even seen any of the Star Wars films.
My wife loves movies so I knew she was a keeper, one of our first dates was to see Original Sin with Jolie/Banderas. haha.

I had my second and last date with a girl seeing Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I don't know if it was a factor, but it certainly didn't help.
You would think think Gone Girl but that actually went pretty solid. I'd be curious if anyone ever got laid after Cannibal Holocaust.

A friend of mine took a first date to "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer" (1986). She was not amused. He tried to tell her, "But look at all the great reviews." Didn't cut any ice. Another potential relationship down the toilet. Note the "two thumbs up" from Siskel and Ebert. Didn't impress the young lady.  |
