Since today is mother's day, what better way to celebrate than this 1980 cult sick dark horror comedy shocker from Troma that put them on the map besides Toxic Avenger.
I saw this on video at age 12 and shocked me but it is one of my fave horror films as it's like Last House on the Left, Devil's Rejects, Maniac and Texas Chainsaw Massacre in one with some disturbing images and graphic shocks but some laughs too.

Yes, definitely a disturbing and shocking horror flick. But it is also quite intelligent due to its keen sense of satire on consumerism. Mother's Day is certainly a lot like the movies you mentioned, but there is also inspiration from Deliverance.

It's a terrifying film. Not sure how it holds up. I remember the early decapitation scene looking cheap.

Saw this at the movies, and it has the requisite "sting" of an ending, where a character discussed suddenly makes an appearance. Also, the old lady who coordinates all the torture used to act on Car 54, Where are you!

I don't remember much except it being more disturbing than the slasher I was expecting. But I know I liked it more than the stupid remake.
