Haven't read the book, but I thought the Peter Weir film with Harrison Ford was excellent, so I don't see how this will improve on it.

Interesting, I just finished the book a week or so ago. I hadn't read it before but always enjoyed the film. The movie tracked pretty well with the book. I'm still waiting on a Criterion release for the film, it is an overlooked classic in my opinion. It'd be interesting to see this tv series but I agree it'll be hard to improve on the film.

I read the book many years ago, and always enjoyed the film, which featured probably Harrison Ford’s best performance, as well as a terrific supporting cast. I’ll look out for this.
