I appreciate that THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN 2021 isn't just a copy and paste. However, none of the changes to the story feel like upgrades. It might seem unfair to compare the artistic and technical aspects of both versions when the remake was made with less money and resources... but if you don't have what's needed to match the original (let alone to improve on it), why try in the first place? There are some dramatic montages with original songs playing in the background. Since the music and arguably the lyrics don't match what's being on shown on screen, it ends up looking so ridiculous that I couldn't help but to laugh!
