Vincent Price said something around that time--1970-he said tv had not lived up to its potential.

What's wrong with it? Well the fact that nobody watches it except old boomers that dunno how to use Netflix would be the main problem.

And it got worse after that broadcast... A lot of people I know don't even have cable.

Yeah. I highly recommend subscribing to that channel - there's always new uploads.

I don't see what's wrong, newer shows have gotten more story-driven and less-soapy.

Tv shows today and in the last 10-15 years is generally better than before, the only thing that really was better generally in the past than what it is today are sitcoms/comedies.

Is it JUST shows coming through the air from towers to antennae mounted on houses or on television sets? Or is it any media outlet that streams anything for viewing pleasure...via cable/internet/airwaves/satellite? If so, it seems it's thriving quite nicely because that includes...Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu and any of a myriad of streaming outlets...including youtube. If the latter hundreds of millions watch TV all the time.
