Plot.
I’d have it set as a SEQUEL to the animated series. Taking place in the 1970s...
Johnny Quest and Hadji just graduated college. Or are in college. They have to help their father and Race on a spy thrilling adventure.
I wouldn’t go the kid route.

Why would anyone set anything in the 70s? The only franchise that came out of the 70s looking good were the Bond films.

Why would anyone set anything in the 70s? The only franchise that came out of the 70s looking good were the Bond films. That’s why you would make a revisionist history film about the 1970s. Why do it for a decade that was already awesome? You fix the decade that wasn’t. Plus, Johnny Quest was a kid in the 1970s. So it’s a continuity thing. |

Will Ferrell doesn't have "chemistry" with anyone, he has actors pitying him like a drunk lost street tramp wondering onto a film set and throwing some nickels at him. |

Chris Hemsworth might be the most feasible for Race Bannon now but to me he seems more like Fred from Scooby Doo.
Why is the 70s a better time to cast movies?
Because there were many more people you could use.
Famous or not.
Race Bannon could be George Peppard or Chuck Connors or Ron Ely or James Franciscus or Tab Hunter to some minor actor from an episode of Mannix.
Dr Quest could be Bill Bixby or Gordon Pinsent or Robert Culp...tons of choices.
