Anyone watch the first episode?
I finished Clone Wars on Thursday and jumped right into this the next day, so I really liked it. They lineup perfectly.
It felt just like a new Clone Wars episode. I didn't know Filoni was involved, for some reason I thought he opted out of this one. I'm glad he's the creator, though. He understands all of these characters the best of anyone, especially if/when Rex and/or Ahsoka show up.
Some of it felt like it was setting up stuff we've seen a million times before (the Rebels are already being introduced), but it also setup some other potentially interesting threads. Any thoughts on it?

It's alright. Some of the story is hard to swallow like these clones having superpowers but it having never been replicated in other clones. Their lack of programming is also very convenient. It's also weird to me that Tarkin hates clones and wants to use regulars soldiers. This makes no sense whatsoever. They have a multitude of advantages over regular soldiers.
That aside a story set immediately after the war is a good idea. It'll be nice to see everything that happened including what happened to all of the clone soldiers.

It more or less explains all of those questions you have.

I finally decided to start watching Clone Wars last night (one episode so far) so it’ll be some time before I get to this one. After the last two trilogies it felt like a blast of fresh air so I’m hoping it keeps this way.

Not the first episode of a series which is both a prequel and sequel to 2 other TV shows outright, and even a 3rd one if you count Mandalorian, which continues the story between the middle and final part of a trilogy of movies which are the prequels to another trilogy of films all with one continuity, this is like bitching that you don't get what is happening in the story if you start reading the Harry Potter books by reading Order Of The Phoenix first.

The Mandalorian doesn't require you watch Clone Wars first though. It's easy to follow without that. This is TV, a lot of people aren't going to knw they have to watch an entire seven season series to understand what's going on and they may not want to.

This is TV, a lot of people aren't going to knw they have to watch an entire seven season series to understand what's going on and they may not want to. Because that's not a show connected to anything else, Bad Batch is connected to Clone Wars, which is connected to the PT and Rebels, which are both connected to the OT through direct storylines, Mandalorian is not, it's connected to the OT thats it really, well the OT and PT, but the PT less so, but most shows don't spell out every detail of the show in the first episode, they give you as much of the premise as you need to know the smaller details play out over the course of the season or even series as a whole. Bad Batch is Oder of The Phoenix in this case, Mandalorian is Fantasist Beast #1, same universe but utterly unrelated story and character for the most part, hence not needing you to have seen/read the other content.

Second episode was underwhelming imo.

Last two episodes have been great and my interest is finally back.
A little sick of all of these cameos, but it’s far from surprising.
