The question that begs to me asked is "Why?" I guess to promote his inevitable addition to the GOTG.

I don't really care...
I have the film on DVD in my "So Bad It's Famous" collection, and haven't watched it since I bought it...
I have NO DESIRE to see it in 4K...
DVD resolution is just fine, for when I feel like I want to puke guts out.

The question that begs to me asked is "Why?" Yeah, There are far better films that haven't even been released on Blu-Ray yet, which should have been released, before this turd... But, If consumers want this film out in 4k, that bad... At least this release should be considered proof, that Physical Media isn't going away anytime soon. And I'm all for that.

If it can replicate the original almost empty cinema ambiance Iβm all for it.

All I recall of that stinker is that Jeffrey Jones had the only funny line in the whole thing, and I can't even recall the line. Why resources would be wasted on transferring this dud to 4k is beyond me, but I'm betting it'll be turning up in a lot of remainder bins in a hurry.

The question that begs to me asked is "Why?" Lea Thompsons butt in small pink knickers is the only justification I need, but I also adore this movie, it's hilariously awful and I love it for that reason...plus little knickers is a bonus.

And yet we're still without The Abyss and True Lies on Blu-ray.

To think in the 80s--people were saying--when is Marvel going to get the Superman treatment? And here it was.
Of all the properties they could have done as a big budget feature film--this is what they chose to do.
Thanks George.

And yet we're still without The Abyss and True Lies on Blu-ray. blame James Cameron, he is too busy making Avatar 2-5

Yeah, because duck tits and sexual tension between an animatronic duck and Lea Thompson were exactly what we needed to see in 4K...

Even though this movie is one of my guilty pleasures, I have to admit I'm pissed that it's getting a 4K release when so many bona fide great movies aren't even available on Bluray.

Even though this movie is one of my guilty pleasures, I have to admit I'm pissed that it's getting a 4K release when so many bona fide great movies aren't even available on Bluray. It is bizarre how they arrive at those decisions. For some it comes down to the directors or other rights holders, like True Lies and The Abyss I heard need his personal sign off to be rereleased on new formats, and Cameron hasn't done so, why is anyone's guess, but I could imagine money being an issue with certain stuff, like if a director has to sign off and he feels he's been shorted on his residuals for past releases he may stone wall until the studio or distributor or whoever makes good on their demands. Also certain films I imagine are messed up in other ways with rights issues, due to this studio closing, but another one brought these rights and a different studio brought these other rights, but they conflict, or the rights due to these type of things being locked in a state of limbo due to the rights changing hands so many times via different outlets. It's also not as simple as this movie good, this movie bad therefor the good movie gets a new release, lots of good movies no body gives a shit about, same as there are lots of bad movies no one cares about, but some movies are so bad it makes people want to see them, and enjoy them due to how bad they are, Howard The Duck also has the benefit of being owned by Disney who can make toys based off of it, and the character is technically in the MCU, so for that a HTD movie could probably do decently with a new up to snuff release.
