Why does the twister at the beginning of the movie growl like a tiger? Tornadoes sound like freight trains, not big cats. Why does the truck in "Duel", should like the shark from "Jaws"?

I think it's just a weird trope that animal noises are used in action films whether it be for natural disasters or explosions. Speaking of freight trains, I remember the runaway train in Unstoppable having a beastly growl in closeup shots. That did make me chuckle.

Maybe they think David Attenborough the crazy guy was narrating the films.

Incredibly disappointing, it's nothing like the board game!

Incredibly disappointing, it's nothing like the board game! I think that part of the film was left on the cutting room floor unfortunately. I believe Paxton had left foot blue and Helen Hunt had right hand red. Maybe one day we will get an extended director's cut.

It was one of the better disaster movies of the 1990s. I'm willing to cut it some slack over its emphasis of visual effects over story and characters. Not to mention, the steak and eggs scene. Also, Twister is airing on AMC tonight.
