9 Days after a jab - things calming down, restrictions slacking off, plans made to visit people....
...And a reminder of life's cruelties sucker punches you.
Grandad, weeks after vaccination, learns he has cancer, and has weeks at most to live. A month after I last visited him. And with more regular visits planned too. Fucking sucks balls.

Yes, this figured to be a deadly year coming at us in a sneak attack spiritually.
Like you, my elderly family members have been falling away. My mother passed away on Mother's Day from her Cancer. My brother and I had been with her, working shifts with her, and she had fallen into despair, unable to even get out of bed without me carrying her.
Less than two weeks before, my aunt who was my late dad's last surviving sibling, suffered the same Cancer fate. Just two days before my mother passed away, the last aunt who married into my dad's family passed away.
It's been surreal.
And I don't think we're alone in this.

And I don't think we're alone in this. wow...I feel for what you've gone through. My folks passed ~20 yrs ago and my wife's dad passed around then too...her mother died in 10. We had been caring for her. I think all my aunts and uncles are gone...I may have one uncle still living...one who my now deceased aunt married later in life. But now I'm in the 'ready to go generation' just waiting my turn.
