Ok.
This is an Anime News Network Summary.
I just saw this today sub & loved it.
I can be an easy rater-
A=10
A-=9
B+ to B-=7, 8
C+ to C-=5,6
Lower than that is rare for me to give
I've rated 3511 titles on IMDb & 437 rank 4 or lower so 3074 are C or higher.
Basically I rate higher for ties that make me want more-I paid to see Thor 8 times in the theater.
Does it make me wonder what's next for the characters?
Rewatchable? If I'm flipping channels, I will probably stop on Die Hard unless I am headed to a specific show. I can pick it up anywhere & enjoy moments.
Negative-does it sacrifice to hit an end? This is a problem for many comedies because it's easy to take a premise & run with it for 60 minutes, but at some point it has to wrap up. Let me piss off Nolan fans-I hate how he runs roughshod over characters to hit his ending.
Stick to the story. Hobbits can't not fly in the first 2 movies, then sprout wings in Return of the King because the author needs a shortcut unless it is explained-magic wish or something.
Good lines are a bonus. Princess Bride, The Crow. Give me a good quote to remember & the movie might move up a number
So, to the review.
I gave it a 10.
Damn.
I could see the outcome a good 30 minutes out, but I'm sitting there blinking, breathe, breathe "I am not crying. I AM NOT CRYING"
Definitely tears welled up, but no actual down the face.
And yeah, I will purchase a copy.
And yeah, I want to know what happens next.
So it is re-watchable
Everyone is everyone.
Zenitsu is a wussy crybaby who wants off the train but when passed out is amazing
Inosuke (boar head) is insane. I have mostly seen this series on Cartoon Network so I haven't noticed all the ways he makes himself "Lord Hashibira, but it is overdrive here.
Tanjiro is kind-hearted & sweet, but of course amazing as the hero.
For my money, most Shonen can be sorted into Saint Seiya or DBZ. One Piece & Naruto are DBZ. Bleach is more Saint Seiya. This one is more Saint Seiya. Rengoku (the Hashira) is SERIOUSLY Saint Seiya.
When I watch a show, I run the scenarios like I thought the quick, easy fix here would be for Nezuko to come out of her box & cut all the bindings, but we didn't get that. Just like in a western, one would unhitch the engine which also didn't happen so not predictable as some titles.
Perhaps because it isn't as long as One Piece, this movie managed to cameo series characters without becoming annoying as in One Piece Gold.
Opening in the cemetery, the animation was rather average, but when we get to the train station, it picks up. The train looks amazing
It is well worth seeing in a theater if one can, but it should work on smaller screens
