Any fans of "What About Bob?" starring Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss and directed by Frank Oz? How has it held up after 30 years? I have a lot of memories for this movie. I saw it in the theater 30 years ago. 20 years ago, it was the last movie I watched in a class for high school. In my psychology class, we had the choice of ending the semester with this movie or One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. You can guess which film won. I wouldn't be surprised if I saw it at some point 10 years ago, but over the past few years, it has been playing on some of the HBO channels. While not a masterpiece or one of the greatest comedies ever made, it's worth repeating viewings since it's funny and fun with Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss in good form. Apparently, Murray and Dreyfuss really didn't get along in real life which helped fuel their characters and performances. Leonard Maltin Movie Guide Review: What About Bob? (1991) - 3 out of 4 stars"Phobic patient Murray pursues pompous psychiatrist Dreyfuss to his vacation retreat, where he ingratiates himself with the shrink's family--and drives the doctor crazy. Very funny outing, with Murray and Dreyfuss approaching the relationship of the Road Runner and the Coyote. Only at the very end does it succumb to silliness."

Awkward is the first word that comes to mind. Dreyfuss' character is the real lunatic psycho.

6/10 Haven't seen it since like the late 90s but I recall it to be a solid comedy.

I find Bill Murray pretty overrated, but this is definitely one of his best comedies, and maybe his overall best comedic role. Murray was the perfect fit to play lovable but overbearing loony tune.
For me, though, Richard Dreyfuss makes this film go from good to great, easily HIS best comedic role. Just like Murray, Dreyfuss was the perfect fit for a different kind of lunatic.
The fact that Murray and Dreyfuss butted heads on set just adds to the comedy tension.
A very funny film. My favorite moment? Dreyfuss pushing Murray off the dock. Still makes me laugh out loud every time I see it.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. Both Richard Dreyfus and Bill Murray were hilarious.

Maybe it's lost a bit of it's edginess and surprise moments, it's still a very entertaining and funny movie.

I love how twelve years later they did that movie Anger Management, which had the exact opposite premise. Now it was a loony tune shrink who latches onto his patient and wrecks his life.
