It's almost exactly Heroes and Heroes Reborn. The dad works for this organization that's locking up powered people. Then come to find out his own daughter has powers so he has to hide her from the people he works for. It goes further when this same guy has to protect brother/sister twins. The guy in the thumbnail for the trailer also looks like Sylar. But... I'll watch it because Amy Acker.

I'll watch it because of Amy Acker and also because I'm always fair and unbiased so I'll give it a chance, just like I gave Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist a chance. Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter weren't good and Jessica Jones was a boring and crappy snoozefest that is the worst CBM series ever produced, but Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist turned out OK so I'm hoping that The Gifted turns out OK too.

Yeah, you gave them a chance. I bet you watched until the end of the title sequence then turned it off. And you can't say this doesn't look like Heroes. It's almost exactly the same thing. I would be surprised if the girl isn't a cheerleader. Amy Acker looks like she is playing the regular mom like Noah's wife in Heroes. I hope they got the mutant gene from her and she is something more. I like her better when she is bigger like Root and Saunders and Fred. I like superpower shows (even liked Mutant X and Alphas). I hope this good too.

I'll watch it because Amy Acker. I have been waiting for her to do something new. I loved her in Person of Interest and Root became my favorite character. I will definitely be checking this out.

Yeah, you gave them a chance. I bet you watched until the end of the title sequence then turned it off. For Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, I first watched the entire pilot episodes and then decided (because the pilot episodes were interesting enough) to watch more episodes so I've watched the entire 2 seasons of Daredevil and the entire seasons of Luke Cage and Iron Fist. For Agents of Shield and Agent Carter, I watched the entire pilot but it wasn't good so I stopped watching. And for Jessica Jones, it was so boring and crappy that I initially stopped watching halfway through the pilot episode. But I decided that it would be unfair to rate it without at least seeing the entire pilot episode so to be fair I watched the rest of the pilot episode to see if it would get better in the 2nd half of the pilot episode. But it didn't. It was just as boring and crappy so I stopped watching after the pilot episode. And before you start complaining that I only watched the pilot episodes of Agents of Shield, Agent Carter, and Jessica Jones, TV is a different medium than the movies. With movies, viewers have already paid their admission ticket so even if a movie starts off boring in the beginning, most viewers are still going to stay and watch the entire movie, since it's only about 2 hours. But if a TV show has a boring pilot episode, then viewers aren't going to invest another 12 hours (for a short season) or 22 hours (for a full-length season). So a TV show has to get viewers interested starting with the pilot episode. That's also how network executives decide whether or not to greenlight a TV series. They watch the pilot episode only and make their decision based on the pilot episode. That's how Krypton got greenlit by SyFy. Only the pilot episode for Krypton has been filmed and the network executives greenlit Krypton based on the pilot episode. So watching the entire pilot episode of Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter, and Jessica Jones was more than fair to reach the conclusion that they weren't good and weren't worth investing any more hours to watch. you can't say this doesn't look like Heroes. It's almost exactly the same thing. I wouldn't be surprised if the girl isn't a cheerleader. Amy Acker looks like she is playing the regular mom like Noah's wife in Heroes. I never said The Gifted doesn't look like Heroes. But I'm not going to make a decision based on a 2 to 3 minute trailer, just like I didn't make a decision on Jessica Jones based on half of the pilot episode. I made a decision on Jessica Jones after watching the entire pilot episode, and I'll make a decision on The Gifted after watching the entire pilot episode. Same with Black Lightning. I haven't decided yet if I'll watch Black Lightning, but I'll make a decision on Black Lightning after watching the entire pilot episode. I like superpower shows(even liked Mutant X and Alphas)
Me too. I've never seen Mutant X or Alphas or Constantine and I've only seen the first 2 seasons of Heroes, but I've seen the complete series of these shows:
The Bionic Woman (1976 series starring Lindsay Wagner) The Bionic Woman (2007 series starring Michelle Ryan)
Birds of Prey Black Scorpion The Flash (1990 series starring John Wesley Shipp as the Flash) Lois & Clark No Ordinary Family The Secrets of Isis Smallville Wonder Woman (1970s TV series starring Lynda Carter)
And I've seen every episode so far of these shows:
Arrow Daredevil The Flash (2014 series starring Grant Gustin as the Flash) Gotham Iron Fist Legends of Tomorrow Luke Cage Supergirl
I've even seen the 1974 TV movie of Wonder Woman starring Cathy Lee Crosby, the un-aired pilot episode of the Wonder Woman series starring Adrianne Palicki (which was as awful as Jessica Jones), and the 1997 TV movie of Justice League of America starring David Ogden Stiers (which was also awful).

There isn't much here that isn't par for the course as far as superpowers go. A secret company/organization hunting people with superpowers is generally part of the trope. Where superpowered individuals exist there is generally a company/organization hunting them, tracking them, killing them, keeping an eye on them, policing them, etc.

Then finds out his kids is one of these people and has to keep him/her/them safe from the people he works for. Now if the parents were just regular people non-government agent parents (how they made it sound), that would be different.

It appears I'm the only one who's curious about this. Heroes was modeled after the X-Men, finally they are making a live action show about it. I loved the animated cartoon.

I'm not a big X-Men fan but I'm going to be watching this show. It looks pretty good and Amy Acker is great. Also, the daughter was very good in Gotham. I loved Mutant X but hated Heroes/Heroes Reborn and Alphas. I like The Tomorrow People but didn't love it.
We'll just have to see what this show brings.

Heroes was modeled after comics in general. X-men was just one of them. The only things really taken from X-men is probably Weapon X and Days of Future Past.

I wish there was more teasers for this one. We did get a comic con trailer. The Comic-Con trailer was better than the original trailer (in the OP) and has gotten me more interested in this show. This looks like it'll be the best TV show ever based off of Marvel characters. (Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter both sucked and Jessica Jones is a really boring and crappy snoozefest.)
