I enjoyed season 1. Season 2 started very well with a great 2.1 episode. Ever since it's slowing down. I wish more of the Aliens got shown in this show. Any opinions on this? I hope people discussing the show on IMDb will join this new forum.

I didn't know it started back up. I'll have to find it on demand and catch up.

Still not many people here, I hope that now that IMDb boards are gone for good, more people come here to discuss this show.

I am a fan. It's premise isn't particularly unique, but it's the execution that makes the show. It's really well done. It's intense as f-ck. The production value is very good. The Walking Dead wishes that it was this well-done. This is a much better post apocalyptic show.

Will's new partner is a bastard. That guy is playing a great part. I definitely want to see Will do him bodily harm. Fun fact: the same actor also played this guy: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRf_A07Elyw

I've been watching this, it's not bad at all. However, I do want to know more about what other colonies are doing because the LA one seems to making some really stupid mistakes. Such as sending children to the factory. You don't mess with surviving children when humanity is at the brink of extinction.

Well, we don't know much about the aliens' purpose and what the factory is, so we can't really know yet if from the aliens' perspective, sending children there is a mistake; and remember, ultimately the aliens are the ones calling the shots.

This show is OK. I liked Falling Skies MUCH better. Falling Skies ending was just awful. Cheesy and silly with that Deus Ex Machina solution.

I saw the first season and liked it. Is it not worth finishing? I have too much to watch, not to mention catch up on. I've started Colony. Haven't gotten much last the first episode though.

Falling Skies apparently started very very well (I actually only watched the last few seasons, not the first few ones, unfortunately) but the ending is truly, truly horrendous. So go ahead and watch it but be prepared for a let down if you make it through the end (it has, what, 7 seasons?). Colony on the other hand I'm enjoying very much.

I enjoyed the first three seasons; but season 4 "glitched", like we were thrown into an alternate reality version of the plot. Suddenly the aliens were keeping people in walled ghettos and sending kids to brainwashing schools instead of harnessing them like before. The Volm, their benevolent allies, picked up and left for some strange reason - they abandoned their offspring to hatch somewhere and the enemy had found them, something half-baked like that. I figured in Season 4 their quick victory would be stalled by some new weapon or tactic of the Espheni but instead they gave us this jarring dislocation. I kept watching after that but it wasn't the same. After three seasons of continuity they went off the rails and never really got back that sense of coherence. Very little of what the aliens were doing made sense. The human response wasn't any more logical. And the ending was just plain ridiculous. But yeah, don't know what happened to a show that started off with so much promise. Colony I've enjoyed so far despite its sometimes being a little too slow burn. The second season has been surprising in that regard. Only a brief lull after Will rescued his son Charlie, then the shit starts hitting the fan. I won't spoil it for anyone who needs to catch up but (although we still haven't seen a Rap face-to-face) the battle for Earth has taken center stage now. Events in the most recent episode just upped the ante considerably. As in the LA bloc may be in serious danger of getting wiped out. I have a feeling the season finale cliffhanger is going to be over-the-top nuts this year. Looking forward to it!

Yes, chrisjdel, this latest episode - spoiler ahead with the new countdown which I believe not only coincides with the LA bloc being exterminated but probably also to make room for a new and more massive arrival - gave the first solid hint of where the show is going that is full blown invasion with a fight for Earth's survival and it is surprisingly slow to see it only happen mid-way through the second season. So yes, it is definitely a slow show but interesting enough in terms of each quasi-self-contained episode; every episode has some sort of sub-plot that often does pay off like - more spoilers Bram's girlfriend's successful attempt to blow up an alien ship - although there is a bit of an inconsistency here - didn't the aliens wipe out Houston or something after two of them were killed there? They should have wiped out LA immediately after losing an entire ship.

I guess I won't finish watching Falling Skies. It started out really good though. I have to catch up on Last Ship and ZNation also.

They should have wiped out LA immediately after losing an entire ship. We don't know that any Raps were actually on that ship, it could be automated. Basically just a really big drone. They're going to be pissed. No doubt about it. I think Snyder was talking to Bram on next week's preview because they need to point the finger somewhere else or everyone at the camp (including both of them) will die. He may have inadvertently planted the seeds of his own salvation with that call to the Governor General about Nolan's unexpected and slightly improper visit. Of course it must have been him who stole the access card the terrorist used to get herself and the bomb on board. And the fact that someone at his house tripped a security protocol copying files they weren't supposed to download is going to make him look even more guilty. Plus the guy's shady as hell, I'm sure he's doing other things and cutting other corners that could get him in trouble. By setting him up to take the fall Snyder will not only save his own ass but the rest of the LA bloc too. I mean, if it's just certain people turning traitor there's really no need to kill a whole city full of slaves in retaliation. Is there? That would be wasteful.
