Action = optical beam.
I did not include Origins or The Last Stand, small screentime/cameo.
Origins did feature some optical blast action indeed, and it was great.

I think his beams looked better in the second movie. The first movie was pretty low budget so the effects are very dated.
The problem is that Cyclops is barely in the sequel. Which is my only major complaint about what is otherwise a terrific X Men movie.

You're right:
X-Men (2000)
1- One optical beam aimed at Sabretooth - just to scare him or so 2- The big optical beam crashing the roof window 3- One optical beam pushing the door away - it was pretty quick 4- One optical beam hitting Sabretooth - at least 5- One optical beam hitting Magneto - it was pretty quick
X2:
1- Optical beams hitting Lady Deathstrike 2- Big optical beams hitting the X-Men as well as the Alkali Lake structure

Are you not counting his other uses? he also uses the beams to free Rogue from the vehicle after scaring off Sabertooth, then to blast the muck off of Jeans face after he blasted the door, because if the door counts so should they right? I would go X1 just because he's in the film more, and they show more variety to his powers use, he actually shifts the power of his beams, so we get to see how precise and controlled or raw and powerful his powers are, and why wearing his gear is a must for Cyclops, the sequel? eh not so much.

Sorry, I totally forgot those two instances... thank you, Dazz.

Among the ones you listed, X2. But the real answer is NONE. Cyclops is in the top three most important characters in the X-Men comics mythology and he always gets dissed HARD in the movies! I can only imagine that the producers and directors didn't like him enough or didn't know what to do with him. It was ridiculous to see him used so poorly throughout the entire franchise, and it was actually one of my pet peeves of the series. I mean, in the third one he has two scenes, one of which he dies! In another movie he doesn't even have lines at all! The whole franchise was the Wolverine show! Which is fine, I know that he's the most popular, but they doled out a lot of attention to other characters. In the comics, they barely use Mystique in comparison! ARRRGH!!! Rant over. LOL p.s. Who do I consider the top three most important characters in the X-Men mythos? Cyclops, Jean Grey and Wolverine. That triumvirate is at the heart of all the truly great X-Men stories in the comics. Cyclops as team leader, Wolverine as the rebel who butts heads with him, and Jean as their object of attention. Professor X and Magneto are important of course, but they're more the background against which the X-Men stories take place.

Cyclops is my biggest gripe with the entire X-Men franchise. They treated him like crap in the entire series right from the get go. I acknowledge that Wolverine is the most popular X-Man and should get his lions share of screen time. but Cyclops is the leader of the X-Men, the heart and soul of the group, its back bone if you will. By dissing Cyclops you're showing a failure to understand one of the central tenets of what makes the X-Men so cool. he's the cool head. Wolverines the hot head. And Jean is the glue between them. I know some of you are thinking that Professor X is the heart of the team, but he's not really. He's more the old man mentor who doesn't go out into the field. He's like Obi Wan or Merlin while Cyclops is like Luke or King Arthur (Wolverine is Lancelot or Han, and Jean Grey is Guinevere or Leia. The classic tropes are all there.) I hope Cyclops gets his due whenever MCU gets around to them.

I'm afraid I have to disagree. I also thought Cyclops might be going in the right direction in the early scenes of Apocalypse, but both that and Dark Phoenix are so bad I cant consider them as fixing anything.

I have to disagree with you. APOCALYPSE was a brilliant and epic superhero movie, and the quintessential X-Men movie to date. DARK PHOENIX was a great movie with soul and heart, despite its flaws. Cyclops was extremely cool in DP, for instance.

But I have to point out that for someone who is supposed to be Jean Greys main love interest Cyclops does very little in the movie. I really don't see how you can say he was so cool in that movie. He doesn't do much. IMO Cyclops should be one of the top three leads in any X-Men movie, not just a supporting character, as he has been so far.

He will be the leader. And I must say that, from an action standpoint, Cyclops had very cool scenes in Apocalypse and - most of all - Dark Phoenix (especially in the final battle). In Dark Phoenix, he displayed his power in a fine way. On the other hand, I know what you mean, and yes, I guess that the MCU will fix it.
