I gave up some time ago on ever liking an Edgar Wright movie but this does seem quite intriguing and I’ll probably check it out if only to see Diana Rigg in what I imagine must be her last film.

Isn't his whole career a series of weird turns?

Isn't his whole career a series of weird turns? I mean that this doesn't look like a Edgar Wright movie at all. Maybe it will end up being a parody of the horror genre, but it doesn't look that way to me.

I am a fan of Baby Driver, but not so much of his other movies. Baby Driver is more up my alley of the type of movie I enjoy and I had quite a bit of fun watching it.

I was looking forward to Baby Driver but found it too obnoxious and frenetic for my tastes. It had its moments, I guess, but I can’t honestly say that I enjoyed it.

I probably wouldn't guess Baby Driver and Scott Pilgrim were the same director, either.

Eh, they are still within his ballpark somewhat. They are still comedies and if when I watched them and someone told me Edgar Wright directed them after I watched them, I would say, "I'm not too surprised." I mean that is literally what my reaction was when I saw the trailers. When I saw this trailer for this new movie, I was like..."WTF is this and why does Edgar Wright direct it?"

Yeah, it does appear more straight and serious than his other films. But I'm also wondering if that's just the trailer.

Yeah, it might just be the trailer too. I know he is a huge fan of all sorts of types of movies, so I am still happy to see him do something completely different.

I'd say his style is more like a grounded meta commentary, like a more accessible, less referential Tarantino without the hubris and puritanical approach at all.

Not the biggest fan of his films. I've only seen the trilogy and they were enjoyable enough distractions. This does look very different and has me intrigued.
Having said that I'm much more interested in his other new film
